Concrete Floor Formwork: T-Form SIM PL E - CON VEN IEN T - EFFECT IVE - CH EAP

T-form is used to set upper level of floor surface. It can be used as a leave-in-place screed rail for all types of ground and separating floors. Model Height (H), mm Length (L), mm Metal thickness (S), mm Price/m, T-30 30 3000 (2500) 0.5 ÷ 0.55 T-45 45 3000 (2500) 0.65 ÷ 0.7 T-60 60 3000 (2500) 0.75 ÷ 0.8

Features: Allows meeting tolerance and leveling requirements on large area floors Forms movement and insulated joints Allows forming angled surfaces and acts as an interface between concrete slabs No surface deformation from working screed Special perforation holes allow using steel reinforcement to prevent lifting of neighboring concrete slabs Minimizes crack formation

Description of T-Form Setting 1. Drive reinforcement pins of 8 mm diameter into the ground with the

distance in between from 750mm to 1200 mm, height minus 20mm from intended floor level, with accuracy ± 10mm. Height of pin entry into the ground depends on ground density and varies from 500 mm (sand) to 50 mm (concrete). In case of concrete entry height should not be limited (see picture 1).

2. One by one bend out reinforcement pins into opposite sides, and put T-form on them.

3. After setting T-form level with a leveling instrument, attach with electric welding to reinforcement pins (see picture 2).

4. It is possible to place T-forms on concrete hillocks (see picture 3). 5. Connect T-forms between each other with an electrode of 4 or 3 mm

diameter (see picture 4). It makes rigid-joined framework and single surface level without any steps.

6. Pour concrete. 7. After concrete setting, it possible to pour topping on the surface to prevent

T-forms from external exposure (water) and to eliminate metal corrosion (see picture 5).

8. Next day it is possible to start cutting extension joints. Joints can be at once filled in with sealant (see picture 6).

9. Sealant is well-fixed on the top of the T-form because the hole from the cutoff disc is smaller than the T-form width by 0.25 – 1.0 mm. That’s why sealant does not go above floor surface.

10. If topping is not used, it is necessary to cut concrete with a cutoff disc, which is wider than T-form top (see picture 6), and to fill in the hole with sealant. It prevents T-form from corrosion.

11. When grinding the floor with grinding machines, the upper part of the profile is grinded and filled in inside the profile with a sealant and then is grinded again, if necessary.

Diamond Tools for Grinding Machines Diamond tools are used as expendables to grinding machines to take off the surface layer of concrete, stone, wood and other foundations. Diamond tools consist of a metal plate with soldered on it diamond or carbide segments. Tools specification consists of:

1. Segment form: R (rectangular), C (circle). Clarification: the more sharp edges there are in the segments, the rougher and the more aggressive (more productive) is surface grinding, and the more the segments hold against the load impact. The fewer edges, as for example in case of circle segments, the fewer scratches are left on the surface.

2. Bond type in the segment: S (soft bond for hard concrete), N (normal bond for medium concrete), H (hard bond for soft concrete). Clarification: the softer the concrete, the harder bond is recommended, and vice-versa. For very soft concrete and sand-cement coverings, tungsten carbide (TC) tools are recommended.

3. Segments quantity: number from “1” to “2”. Clarification: the smaller the total working area of segments, the more the pressure on the processed foundation, and consequently the more aggressive and productive the grinding, but the less the segments lifetime (fast wear).

4. Grain size in grit: number from “16” to “150”, which corresponds to the numbers: 16 grit – black, 30 grit – brown, 60 grit – grey, 100 grit – yellow, 150 grit – white. Clarification: the larger the diamond grain (the smaller the grit number), the more aggressive and productive is surface grinding.

The correct choice depends on:

1. Surface flatness – the choice on load impact. Rectangular segments are more preferable. 2. Porosity of concrete foundation – the choice of the number of segments. Larger amount of segments is more

preferable. 3. Hardness of concrete foundation – the choice of segment bond. Soft bond is more preferable for hard

foundations, and vice-verse. 4. Required surface roughness – the choice of segment form and grit. Circle segments with small grains 150 grit

are more preferable for even foundations. Diamond tools have 2 types of fastening, adapted for all trapezoid-form plates: three screwed holes, and additionally three plain holes for pins to fix on magnet tool discs. As an example, diamond tools are classified according to the number of segments and its form as following:

Pads for Grinding Machines Pads are used as expendables for grinding and polishing machines for finish processing of concrete, stone, wooden and other surfaces after processing with diamond tools, by gradually increasing surface shine. Pads, abrasive cloth, felted circles, etc. are attached to the transitional tool disc of a grinding machine on an adhesive tape that provides an easy and quick tool changing. The larger the number, indicating pad or other tool number, the less is abrasive grit, and it corresponds to obtaining higher surface shine.
