MASS CARDS AND SPIRITUAL BOUQUETS

Parishioners are welcome to come to the office to request a Mass Card or a Spiritual Bouquet. The Mass Card is a remembrance by which we offer an announced Mass for the repose of the soul of the de-ceased person or for the intentions of the living. The Spiritual Bouquet is an enrollments in which we re-member the person enrolled at Mass offered every week for both living and deceased. CATHEDRAL OF THE HOLY CROSS

REGISTRATION FOR THE PROGRAM OF RELIGIOUS EDUCATION 2019-2020

THE CATECHESIS OF RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

will take place on Fridays from 6pm to 7pm in des-ignated places in the Lower Church. The first day of Catechesis will be Friday, September 20th.

THE CATECHESIS OF CONFIRMATION Will take place on Wednesdays from 6pm to 7pm in the Lower Church. The first day of Catechesis of Confirmation will be Wednesday, September 11th.

REGISTRATION FEE The Registration fee for 2019-2020 will be $30. This will be used to pay for materials and other expenses related to Religious Education activities.

DEAR PARISHIONERS AND FRIENDS,

I hope that things are going well for each of you as we move into the fall season. I wanted to give you a health update. This past weekend marked the last week of my first treatment. I am feeling tired, but am managing the best that I can. I ask for your continued prayers for me and for all those who suf-fer with cancer. It is a terrible disease, and I am doing all that I can, especially with your great sup-port and prayers, to beat this. I am very grateful for all of the cards, prayers and good thoughts that you have sent my way. God’s blessings and my thanks to each of you. God Love You!

El fin de semana pasado marcó la última semana de mi pri-mer tratamiento. Me siento cansado, pero estoy manejándome lo mejor que puedo. Pido vuestras oraciones continuas por mí y por todos los que sufren de cáncer. Es una enfermedad terrible, y estoy haciendo todo lo que puedo, especialmente con vuestro gran apoyo y oraciones, para superar esto. Estoy muy agradecido por todas las tarjetas, oraciones y buenos mensajes que me han enviado. Dios los bendiga y mi agradeci-miento a cada uno de ustedes.

This is the place to speak out and be heard in a safe confidential, and non-judgmental environ-ment, where isolation and stigma dissipate as sup-portive community is created. Registration now open in the Cathedral Business Of-fice. The Gospel Weeklies is a liturgy-based approach to catechesis. Each lesson is drawn from a theme in the Sunday Gospel. Our children will meet Jesus in the Gospel. The stories and activities in each weekly lesson helps the students understand how the Gospel message relates to their own lives.

Blessing of Animals-Sunday, October 6th On October 4th, the Church honors St. Francis of Assisi, one of the most beloved personalities in Christian history, known especially for his joyful acceptance of radical poverty, and his delight in God’s creation. In celebration of Francis’ feast, we invite you to gather (weather permitting) for the Blessing of Animals on Sunday, October 6th immediately following the 11:30 AM Mass on the lawn near the statue of the Blessed Mother (Union Park Street side of cathedral) “All crea-tures, great and small” are welcome, with their human friends. Please be sure your pet will not be able to get away from you during the brief ser-vice!
