Could you believe?

My mother,

Someone said Cathi was like a beautiful vintage car,Oh there were a few dings and scratches on the body that carried her,Yet she still looked ok for the mileageHer path included some missed curves a few flattened road signs,And Oh yes several souls in her rear view mirror dusting themselves off…And watching out for her reverse lights.

What we all couldn’t see was the mechanism underneath the hood. Something, some parts or whole pieces, that’s a fact. We could see the smoke from the gears grinding, the backfires of bad fuel. And truth be told, these imperfections and defects are in each and everyone of us, in varying degrees…if we could only see.

So this was the gift of my mother…

She gave us all an interesting story to tell,

And in my telling I’m going to try and find what it is I can learn from her now. I am sure if I looked close enough, even the question of her leaving will fade. If I can focus on what she had to teach me by her living, then, I will not lose but gain.I can only believe…

That at some future mile that I will be able to tell her life with a smile.

Moma,How I so wish to see you again, to laugh, to cry with you again. How I wish you all the peace the stars can give you. How I wish to hear your voice, I don’t even mind if you don’t have anything to say, to just hold my head, rock, and know that sometimes words are not needed. Each day I remember something new that I thought was lost in the depth of my mind. I smile because I never thought I would get them back and I cry because I wish they had come sooner so I could laugh with you and

not alone. Yet somehow I feel you are there and somehow we are closer now than we have been in a long time. No matter what life has thrown at us, all of the wrongs no longer matter. Go with a peaceful

soul knowing I hold nothing but love, and new found understanding for you. How I wish you are smiling down above us knowing all the love you had surrounding you. You have touched each of us and left us all

to be better human beings than we would have been without you. How I wish so many, many things for you to know—somehow I know you

already know them.Your hands guided us through this and I hope we listened well—I

almost wouldn’t believe you if you said you didn’t like it—you know you do! From the most inner place in my heart,

I will forever love you,-Baby of Yours
