2020-21 Catholic Service Appeal (CSA)
The new CSA year kicks off this weekend. To learn about the people,
programs, services and ministries supported by the CSA, please be
sure to check out the video on the home page of the Diocesan web-
site, www.catholicdos.org. You may have recently received a maga-
zine from the Diocese which introduces some of the staff as well.
They are both well worth checking out, plus you’ll have the opportunity
to see some familiar faces.
Goal for St. Joseph ……..$63,036
Goal for St. Ann……………$13,468
You may return your pledge envelope (located inside the magazine) by
placing it in the collection baskets located at the Church entrances,
bringing it into the Church office or mailing it to our PO Box 877. If
you need an envelope, they will also be located on the tables at the
entrances. Please make sure to include your name, address, total
amount pledged, parish and your preferred way to give.
If you prefer online donating, new this year, we have added a CSA
option on the “Give” page of our website. You may choose St. Joseph
CSA or St. Ann CSA and choose one-time or recurring donations.
Please do not hesitate to call the office if you have any questions. As
always, thank you for your support and generosity.
Spiritual Adoption: Week 22
“My tongue is fully formed now. I’m practicing giving people a rasp-
berry! I can hear noises from the outside. Some loud ones scare me. I
know mom’s voice and like the music she listens to. I now have fin-
gernails and fingerprints. I’m not as little as I used to be just a few
weeks ago. Now I am about 10 inches long and could stand up
straight!” “and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the
glory of God the Father.” Phil 2:11

Coming Events
As you may know, St. Ann's offers free masks for the
community. There are baskets in the Cable Post Office,
Cable Area Food Shelf, Meals On Wheels
distributers and main entrance of the
church. We need your help! If you know
how to sew and would like to help the
community to beat this virus, please
consider helping the ladies. Elastic and
fabric will be provided. If you have some
extra fabric at home and would like to put
it to good use, community will appreciate
it. If you have questions, call Judy Rehak,
our mask production supervisor at 715-

CSA This is Catholic Services Appeal Commitment weekend.
Our parish goal this year is $13,468. All registered
parishioners should have received a special letter from
Bishop Powers seeking their personal commitment and a
pledge of support. If you are still contemplating your Appeal
gift, please give from your heart on behalf of those whose
lives will be changed for the better because you cared. Every
pledge and gift is vitally important; please remember, no gift
is too small and will bring us closer to reaching our goal.
God will indeed bless and reward your generosity and
concern for others, of that you can be assured. Online giving
is available. CSA option on the “Give” page of St. Joseph’s
website is there for your convenience.

Donate School Supplies
The Hayward Rotary Club is again partnering with Hayward
First Lutheran Church in collecting school supplies and back-
packs. These items will be distributed to students who would
otherwise start the school year without basic supplies. It also
helps teachers who would otherwise reach into their own pock-
ets to buy these school supplies for students. Collection boxes
are located at the main Church and Church Hall entrances.
Items can be dropped off through August 23rd. Thank you!
Volunteer Opportunity
Searching out some Gardening Angels to adopt a small section
around the Church. If you are interested in finding out more
information or would like to join our gardening team, please
contact Bean at 715-558-3071.
Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Because this Feast falls on a Saturday this year, there will not
be a separate celebration of the Assumption of the Blessed
Mother into Heaven. This Holy Day was adopted by the Catho-
lic Church to commemorate Mary’s assumption into Heaven, a
belief in a real physical elevation of her sinless soul and incor-
rupt body into Heaven. On this Feast day let us thank the Lord
for the gift of his mother and let us pray to Mary to help us find
the right path every day.
