The National CWL Convention is coming: August 18th to the 21st at the Hyatt Regency Hotel and Conference Center in Calgary, Alberta. Registration forms are available on the CWL bulletin board. Any questions please call Delphine @ 403-823-9767.

Couples for Christ

Family Rosary: CFC would like to invite all parishioners to open their homes to the

image of Mary, Help of Christians. This image visits homes and stays for one week to encourage families to pray together the Holy Rosary. There will be a sign-up sheet at the back for the dates open for the visitation.

Calling all Youth to serve as readers, greeters, and collectors for our monthly Youth Mass. The Youth choir is also open for new members. Please contact Tess Felisilda for more information (403)821-0757.

6th Sunday of Easter: Sunday, May 26, 2019Jesus is “going away,” we are told in today’s Gospel as we near the end of the Easter season. Imagine how upset the apostles felt. Also reflect on Jesus’ human desire to comfort and reassure them. As is usually the case when anyone approaches a final goodbye, Jesus wants to impart his most important message. As I reflect on this, I remember visiting my father for a weekend shortly before he died. He slept most of the time as I read or prayed while sitting by his bed. One moment he woke up, looked right at me and said quietly, “It wasn’t always easy for your mom and me to raise such a large family. I hope you understand.” He quickly fell back asleep. At the time, I did understand, and now, after many more years of parenthood, I have even greater understanding. I remain grateful for this last message that conveyed what he held in his heart for me. Jesus’ final message was that the Father would send his gifts of the Holy Spirit and peace. Can we receive these gifts with gratitude? Perhaps we will also be moved to offer a special message to someone dear who needs a word of love and comfort. Joe Egan Toronto, ON Living with Christ Pg. 121
