• Knowing that the U.S. would not stop all three continued to conquer other nations

Why?

• Militaristic – glorified the army, built up their weapons, solve problems through war, influence of military in govt.

• Nationalistic – believed superior to other nations and had a right to conquer them

• Totalitarian – controlled all aspects of citizens lives limiting rights and requiring citizens to obey they leader

• The depression and use of propaganda allowed for strong leaders to take control who promised to solve the countries problems
