Causeway Geotech were appointed by Gavin & Doherty Geosolutions on the behalf of L & M Keating to carry out a ground investigation in Dublin Port to provide geotechnical and environmental information for input to the design and construction of a new quay wall and associated tie back anchors/sheet piles. The new quay wall forms part of Dublin Port Company’s Alexandra Basin Redevelopment Project.

Geobor S Coring: high percentage of core recovery in port clay

The scope of works included:

3 boreholes by light cable percussion boring with rotary follow-on drilling 2 boreholes by rotary drilling, including Symmetrix-cased full hole rotary

percussion and Geobor S wireline coring techniques 1 standpipe installation Factual ground investigation report

Site operations were conducted from Causeway Geotech’s hub in Dublin, with a full time Site Engineer based in an office on location.

Works were completed on schedule and the final report was received and accepted within three weeks of the completion of site works.
