Happy New Year!!! We are off to a great start!
We have had many change formats of learning for the 3rd grading
period. Please remember that this change is for the entire grading
period. If your student is struggling, please contact the teacher to discuss any con-
cerns. If you have further concerns, please reach out to the counselor and then
assistant principal. We want this to be the best grading period yet.
Please remember that this grading period moves fast and has the most new materi-
al covered year. Please work to help your student get off to a great start and stay
on top of all their tasks.
Attendance will be monitored very closely during the 2nd semester. We want to avoid
issues related to absences like denial of credit or filing truancy reports to the
courts. Please make sure your child is at school and/or engaging on-line every day for
every class. Remember if you are an In Person learner you are to be at school. If you
are a remote learner, you are to be engaged every class, every day. Do not get
yourself in a bind.
I hope that everyone is watching the great things our Cavaliers are doing and hope
that we have a more engagement in school activities and a great Spring!
Go Cavaliers!!!

How to find scholarships in Naviance (this has changes a small
bit): click on the colleges link at the top of the page, then
scholarships and money, then scholarship list, then local and
regional scholarships.
Please use the directions in the Scholarship Module in the Class of 2021
Canvas Course to know how to turn these scholarships in.
In person students need to turn in any scholarships that need to be pro-
cessed by the college and career center 1st through 5th periods.
Remote STUDENTS need to turn in any scholarships that they need to be
processed by the college and career center 1st through 4th periods. These
need to be turned in by STUDENTS, not parents.
Students who do not feel comfortable turning in scholarships in person,
should email the scholarship tracking form and their scholarship
to [email protected] by 10am in order to be processed same day.
As ALWAYS (not just this year) scholarships should be turned in by STU-
DENTS not parents. Emails should be from STUDENTS not parents.
Please note, that we have always stressed the importance of students
being the ones to turn things in. That is not a new policy, but rather a
reminder of self-advocacy, especially the spring prior to graduation!

Tardy Policy Students are expected to be in their assigned classrooms when the tardy bell rings. Each student is allowed six tardies per semester, and each of those six tardies is a warning. The purpose of the warnings is to help students deal with mishaps in the hall, bad weather, heavy traffic, etc. When a student exceeds six tardies, the stu-dent will begin receiving consequences from their Assistant Principal. Tar-dies will start over after each semes-ter. Students seen intentionally being tardy may have all tardy privileges revoked and consequences elevated. Students who drive to school may have additional consequences including suspension of parking and/or loss of parking privileges.
DROP-OFF POLICY: There will be NO deliveries of any kind at this time to students. This includes, lunch deliveries, homework, project, uniforms, instruments, etc.

Breathe for a Better Me
Video: Mindfulness is the ability to be fully present in the moment.
This includes awareness of your body, feelings, and thoughts. One method of
practicing mindfulness is through meditation. Practicing mindfulness through
meditation will decrease stress levels that not only result in short term health
issues such as headaches but also long term health issues like cardiovascular
disease and mental health problems.
Challenge: Take 2 minutes out of your day to practice mindfulness.
