Why Ireland? !Twenty-two million Americans claim Irish ancestry. These common ancestral ties and shared values have formed the basis for strong trade and economic ties between Ireland and the United States. Today, there are over 500 US businesses operating in Ireland. Companies like Google, Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter operate their European headquarters from Dublin. Intel operates its largest computer chip manufacturing plant outside the US in a suburb of Dublin. Ireland has attracted these American companies with its well-educated workforce, low corporate tax rates, a common language (English), and a favorable business environment. !• Ireland tops the Forbes list of the Best Countries for Business in

2014. !• Ireland’s economy surged 7.7% in the first half of 2014 and is today

the fastest growing economy in the European Union. !• According to an American Chamber of Commerce Ireland

report, US firms invested $239.5 billion in Ireland between 2008-2012. !

• Ireland was ranked as the “Best Country in the World” by the 2014 Good Country Index. Ireland was deemed the country that has made the greatest contributions to humanity and the planet. !

Developing a global perspective is an important addition to the BSBA/MBA academic programs. Study abroad provides students with an opportunity to gain in-country experience that will enhance students’ academic, cultural and professional development. The skills, experiences and perspectives developed can provide an advantage in an increasingly competitive job market.

Itinerary We will be staying in Dublin, the capital of Ireland. Dublin is a vibrant business, international financial, retail shopping and tourist center. You will see rural Ireland during travel to destinations along the beautiful Irish coastline. Free time for exploring, shopping or relaxing is provided on the weekends, most evenings and at midday. Optional trips to visit major tourist sites outside Dublin during the weekend may be arranged at an additional cost. !Costs Costs are estimated at $3,200 per person. This includes airfare, hotel (double room), breakfasts, two dinners, two lunches, admissions and ground transportation. Student financial aid may be used for tuition and travel expenses. We estimate that you will need an additional $400-$500 for miscellaneous expenses (exact amount will depend on lifestyle and personal spending habits). !Travel Dates are March 18-29, 2015
