Thank you to everyone that participated in the Soles Walk for Education: Trick or Treat on theTrack this past Saturday. It was wonderful to see so many families safely gather together insupport of Waukesha Catholic. We raised a lot of money, and the candy was yummy too!

Please remember that conferences are being held this Thursday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and onMonday from noon-8:00 p.m. If you did not sign-up for a conference time by the deadline,please email your child's teacher to arrange a time for your conference as the sign-up geniusis now closed. Now that we have the ability to provide virtual learning to our students, we have been askedwhat our procedures will be when a student is absent for a couple of days of school versusbeing absent for an extended period of time due to a Covid quarantine/isolation. Will I need tocome and pick up their homework at the end of the day? Can my child access virtual lessons?Although this sounds like it should be a simple question to answer, unfortunately, it is not.There are many components and nuances that need to be considered. We have had manydiscussions as to how best to handle the various scenarios and have created some generalguidelines that are provided in this edition of Campus Connection.

Finally, as you are aware (Kovaleski Keynote September 23), the Archdiocese of Milwaukeehas adopted the Standards-Based Grading method which we are required to implement thisschool year. We are providing you two documents today for your review. A Parent's Guide toStandards-Based Grading and Standards-Based Grading Frequently Asked Questions. We willalso be hosting a virtual parent meeting to provide more information and to answer anyadditional questions. The meeting information is as follows:

Student Absences - AccessingAssignments/LessonsSt. William Campus:In grades K3-2nd, if your child will be absent for one to three days due to a general absencesuch as a funeral, doctors appointment, vacation, or waiting for a COVID test result, we askthat you come to the o�ce at the end of the day to pick up your child’s missing work. If yourchild is going to be absent longer than three days due to a positive COVID test or having toquarantine for ten or more days, we will transition them to on-line learning. If your child ishome for one-three days waiting for a COVID test result or doctors release, they will NOTtransition to on-line learning.

St. Mary Campus:In grades 3-8, students who are absent for three days or less will be able to access theirteachers’ virtual lessons by the end of the day. Hard copies of student work and othermaterials needed for these lessons will be available for pick up at the end of the day.

However, if we know a student will be out of school for an extended number of days due to apositive Covid test, having to quarantine or a directive by the school or health department,they will be transitioned to virtual lessons by the end of the �rst day of their absence. These

SOLES FOR EDUCATION FINALREPORTSoles Walk Results!Thank you to everyone who supported the Soles for CatholicEducation Walk – Trick or Treat on the Track - by donating orjoining us this past Saturday. It was an incredible day and sovery helpful in raising funds for our hard-working teachers’classroom needs. While the �nal numbers are still being tallied, our school alone raised morethan $19,000 thanks to all of you and our very generous anonymous matching donor! AND, aportion of this will be matched by the Archdiocese!

COVID-19 UPDATE AND DEFINITIONSIsolation means keeping sick people away from healthy ones. The sick person rests in theirown bedroom, or area in a home, and keeps away from others as best as possible. TheIsolation totals presented here equate to those individuals that have tested positive for COVID-19.

Quarantine means separating people who were exposed to a sick person away from others.Because someone can spread COVID-19 before they have symptoms, quarantine stops themfrom accidentally spreading the virus to other healthy people. Usually, people who are inquarantine stay at home and avoid being around others. The quarantine totals presented hereequate to those individuals that have been identi�ed as a close contact with an individual thathas tested positive for COVID-19. These numbers represent students/staff currentlyquarantined due to either being a close contact to a Covid positive person at school OR a closeto someone outside of the school setting.
