High Priestess

Thank you everyone who made our Installation a success. I will always cherish the memories. The refreshments were outstanding and everyone looked lovely. Welcome to all the New Explorers! Please visit the clubs and units, then, decide which ones you’d like to join.

Lady Dee, your Ceremonial was wonderful. Lady Karen did an exceptional job recruiting new members. She’ll be a hard act to follow, but I’m sure Lady Iris will be ready for the challenge.

Since my class is called Bea’s Graceful Swans, our big yearlong fund raiser will be to sell a bumble bee charm for $25.00. Everyone has a charm bracelet and they would make wonderful birthday, graduation or Christ-mas gifts. Please help the court, which is everyone’s responsibility.

A big thank you to everyone who brought Christmas wrap, bows, ribbon, boxes, etc. The big question has been why? Answer, we will be wrapping Christmas presents the weekend prior to Christmas. The location still to be determined. This will be a big court project getting outside money. More information will be provided through-out the year.

I have heard some people say our meetings are boring and we need to liven it up. I am open to suggestions. Please keep in mind we are limited in what we can do. I do have an idea for the April meeting. Since it’s spring andjust after Easter, those sitting on the sidelines can wear Easter Bonnets. Dig in your closet, find an old one. You could even take a hat and make it your own creation.

Membership is another big topic. We seem to be having new members brought in. Some return, some don’t. Also, there are quite a few long time members who we haven’t seen at Court in a long time. So there is going to be a contest. On page 3 you will find an entry form for your name and phone number, the returning member’s name and3 lines indicating 3 consecutive meetings attended. This will be verified with the sign in book. A box will be placed by the sign in book starting in September. You can fill out an entry form for each returning member you bring. Extra forms will be at the sign in table. At the March 2015 meeting a name will be drawn for a $50.00 gift certificate. I haven’t decided where, but suggestions are always welcome.

I look forward to a fabulous year with each and every one of you. Swan Love, Angel Hugs and Schnauzer Kisses,

Officers’ Offerings Princess

The Installation was beautiful. I wish High Priestess Lady Gina a great year. Welcome to our new members. Please visit the units and join one or two. They are a lot of fun and you will get to know so many lovely ladies My job this year as Princess is to find the best transportation for the Ladies to Grand Council and to WAOUM in San Diego, CA this coming September. Lady Jane Sheldon and I are looking into the possi-

bility of a bus for San Diego. I will keep you updated on our findings.

Associate Princess Congratulations to all of our new members! We hope that you will visit all the Units this month and find at least one to join. That’s where we have most of our fun! Thank you again for electing me to the position of Associate Princess. April Installations start a new

year for our Court and we are celebrating the 100th Grand Council this year, so I’m sure we will have some sur-prises. I’m working on a new Special Project for this year and plan to have it ready to go at the April meeting, so stay tuned. The Shriners Hospital for Children is always looking for toys, or as they call them: “A Prescription for Joy”. They have been shown to alleviate the symptoms of anxiety, boredom and even pain. So let’s spread some Joy in April! Please try to bring some Joy (toys) to the April meeting. Here are some ideas for spring: Dolls, Action Figures, Stuffed Bunnies, Remote Control Cars, Toys for infants that light up or make noise, Cars, Trucks, or Bubble Ma-chines.

Sphinx Patrol Spring has sprung (did we ever have Winter?)

and we’ve all been pretty busy wrapping up our old business and getting ready for another “changing of the guard”. Lady Dee’s term as High Priestess has ended and we are looking forward to a great year with Lady Gina in the East. We congratulate all those elected and appointed to Court or Unit offices.

Sphinx Patrol’s installation was another fun occa-sion and we thank Lady Lynn Hatch, PHP, for doing such a great job of installing us. I’m very proud and happy that we have a group that continues to grow and we enjoy staying very involved with the Court. We want to encourage our new members to come and visit us and join if they like what they see. It is a LOT of fun and not as hard to learn to march as I thought it would be – if I can learn, anyone can! But the best part of being in Sphinx Patrol is the bonds we’ve forged with each other – it’s a great happy, and fun group.

Our next meeting will be on May 6th – no-host dinner at 5 – 5:30, practice at 6:15, and the meeting

PHP Club Well Ladies, it’s time for a new slate of officers

and the start of a new year of activity. The Past Highs congratulate Lady Dee on a very successful year! You brought in many members to our Court and now it is everyone’s turn to help keep them in our fold and help them learn how much fun we have with this or-ganization.

Lady Gina Baird has started out her year in a very classy way and we are there to support her and every other member with any help you need.

The Past Highs will be having our Installation and Initiation of Lady Dee on April 16. No Host dinner at 5:30 and meeting at 7PM at the Shrine. Past High Ladies, please come support the Club and welcome our newest member.

Prayers for those who are not well and need our support.

Lady Trish Whalen, PHP, President
