Officers’ Offerings

Princess Thank you ladies for electing me as your High Priestess for the ensuing year. It is an honor to serve you and I will do my best to fulfill the office. Our Installation is Sunday, March 30 with photos starting at noon. Congratulations to Lady Mary Lou Burger, our new Second Ceremonial Lady, aka Mushroom. It was great

to have 3 ladies running for the 2nd CL position. This shows enthusiasm for our court. Grand Council is fast approaching, May 11-16, 2014 in Wichita, KS. There aren't any nonstop flights. The

fare is running about $400.00 depending on the airline. I know some of you are carpooling. Lady Janet Mielke, PHP, Lady Pat Bandhauer, PHP & Lady Iris Colbert, Second Ceremonial Lady and I had

the privilege of attending the institution of a new court, Aziza in Savannah, Ga. This is a very rare occasion. I think the last one was in 2008. I was impressed by the large number of younger women who joined and the back-ing they received from the Alee Shrine Center.

High Priestess I can’t believe that this year is all over for me. The time has surely has gone fast during my term as High Priestess. Thanks to all the officers for doing such a great job for our court, and Lady Karen and friends for all the promising new members for us. She does it so easily and makes it look even easier. Officers, my heartfelt thanks for all your good work this year, for all the help and advice from our won-

derful Past High Priestesses, but especially to my two advisors, Ladies Jean Glover and Pat Bandhauer. At times, I’m sure you got upset with me, but you still helped or answered your phones and stood by my side. Many thanks to both of you for all you’ve done for me this year.

My best to Lady Gina and all the officers for next year. I hope all goes well for you and your officers. Most of all Lady Trudy for keeping up with all our sickness and distress, by keeping us informed.

First Ceremonial Lady Thank you so much for your support this year as your Membership Chairman. The Membership Tea last month was a huge success! The food was great and we had a full house. With your help we voted

on 10 candidates at the last meeting and we hope to have 13 new ladies at our Ceremony of Initiation on March 24th. Please plan to attend and meet everyone!

I still have a long list of potential new members that I will be passing down to Lady Iris and I hope you were all able to stop by Fiesta Days to get her started. Let’s keep the new members rolling in!

Clowns The Clown Unit is growing and welcoming new

members, Lisa Gilbertson and Debbie Jones. This is so wonderful!

Our next meeting will be on March 13th. Dinner in the Red Fez Room at 5:30 and our unit meeting at 7:00. All are welcome to join us as we have a short business meeting and then some CLOWN FUN!! We will install our new officers at our April 10th meeting.

Second Ceremonial Lady Congratulations Lady Mary Lou Burger, our newest Mushroom! Our next Court Meeting will be March 24, 2014, and it is our Spring Ceremonial. The Director Staff will

not be doing our dinner so I have arranged to have it catered by the Shrine. The cost remains at $10.00, but I MUST hear from everyone on the permanent list who will not be attending, or if you are not on the list, but wish to attend the dinner, please call me by Monday night, March 17. The entrée will be Swiss Steak.

Greeters Unit The theme this month is Hope: Our April meeting is Installation of officers and our OV. The meeting will be April 19th and we are meeting at

Bobby Q’s on the west side of I-17 on 27th Avenue between Northern and Dunlap Avenues. This is a change of meeting place so please make note of it. We hope to welcome new members with the new location. We will wel-come our new Amah, Lady Mimi! Congratulations to the new core of officers.

Sphinx Patrol Spring has almost sprung and we never did have a winter – or at least not yet. Here’s hoping it stays nice

and we have some gentle rains soon. We had election of officers at our February meeting and we kept the same slate: Captain, Lady Linda Du-

Bois, PHP; Lieutenant, Lady Renate Sweat; Secretary, Lady Vicki Sutphin, and Treasurer, Lady Bobbie Balthazor, PHP. We send our heartiest congratulations to our new “mushroom” and wish her much luck as she goes up the line.

It was really nice to have Ladies Sue Newby and Betsy Ramirez visit us at our last meeting and we hope they will return. We are looking forward to having our new members who will join LOS on March 24th come and visit Patrol. Just remember, ladies, whatever you put into the organization, you’ll get it back in spades! WEL-COME!
