Now the CDIA+ Details -CompTIA says:

CDIA+ certification is the IT sector’s first global standard of competency and professionalism in the document imaging/document management industry. Individuals who achieve CompTIA CDIA+ certification have demonstrated knowledge and mastery of scanning, storing and output of black-and-white and color documents; and have the expertise to analyze customers’ business processes and design appropriate document imaging and management solutions to support their needs.

The skills and knowledge measured by this examination are derived from an industry-wide and worldwide job task analysis, which was validated through a survey. The results of the skills survey are used in weighting the domains and ensuring that the possessed weighting is representative of the relative importance of that content to the job requirements of a document imaging professional with twelve to eighteen months on-the-job experience.

Now the CDIA+ Details -Byron says:

There are 45,000 certified people worldwide. I have taught more than 4,000 in Panama (Canon), S. Africa (Canon), Puerto Rico, Barbados, Canada and the US.

“The difference is in your walk, confidence, response to questions..people buy from people they believe-in! And, certification demonstrates that you have the requisite level of understanding to professionally recommend a change to an existing document workflow.” -Byron

Example: When you go to the pharmacy, you are… [ITEM PRICE] When you go to the doctor, you are… [BEST SERVICE. NOT PRICE]

Differentiation means; Higher perception, more confidence, consultant rather than order-taker,

shorter sales cycle, higher GP!

How much does inefficiency cost??

An often-quoted study conducted by The Delphi Group found that 90% of typical office tasks still revolve around paper gathering and distributing, and that while 15% of all paper handled is lost, 30% of our time is used trying to find these lost documents. An American study also discovered that Companies on average spend $25,000 to fill a typical four-drawer file cabinet, $2,000 to maintain it each year, and over its life, a single piece of paper costs an average of $30.

Question.. why does this matter?

Workflow

The definition of an entire process, including all possible exceptions and conditions.

✓This may involve integration, management, and the execution of conditional processing based on user defined criteria [rules].

Rules - Roles - Routing ✓REAL bang-for-the-buck! [Imaging vs. imaging w/ workflow]

Workload balancing = A GOOD THING! ✓Repeatable, Serial or Parallel processes ✓Workflow Administrator: Must first understand existing workflows, then assign via queues [manually] or via automated routing.

Math 6

A bank uses a Digital Subscriber Line (DSL), operating at roughly 384Kbps, but has 13% overhead. They have 10 branches that need to transmit 1,000 pages per day each back to the main office. The average file size is 25KB G-4 compressed. If they start at 5PM, when can the cleaning crew turn the server off to vacuum? 384Kbps x .87 = ~334Kbps / 8 = 41.75KBps transmit rate 1,000 pgs x 25KB = 25,000KB x 10 sites = 250,000KB 250,000KB / 41.75KBps = ~5,988 seconds 5,988 seconds /60 = 99.8 minutes (~ 6:40 PM) hyperlink
