President Trump is Putting
America FIRST!!!
1. President Trump announced the U.S. is putting a 60 day pause on immigration to ensure our workers are protected.
1. According to a recent USA Today/Ipsos poll, 80% of Americans favor an immigration pause.
1. President Trump is committed to ensuring our small businesses across the country have the support they need. The Senate passed new funding for the PPP which has saved $30 million jobs.
1. An additional $310 billion for PPP
1. $75 billion to support hospitals.
1. $25 billion for expanding testing efforts.
1. $60 billion for the SBA’s economic injury disaster loans.
Chairman of the RPOF, Joe Gruters, has extended the postponement date of all REC meetings, Republican club meetings, meals, delegate selection caucuses, and all other Republican gatherings to May 15th.
The following will be postponed until May 15th:
1. All Republican Club meetings
1. All sign waving
1. Sarasota Headquarters will be closed
1. Thursday, May 14th REC meeting (Will be a Virtual Conference Call)
1. Club board meetings
1. Any group acitivites
1. Campaign fundraisers
The RPOSC will help guide any groups, clubs, and boards that would like to host conference calls to hold meetings. Please contact Laina Moran for details.

On Wednesday, April 22nd, 2020 the Republican Club of Longboat Key donated 500 much needed face masks to the Longboat Key Fire Department and will make a similar donation to the Longboat Key Police Department this coming week.

Mary E. Briggs of North Port, Florida
The RPOSC would like to express our sincere condolences on the passing away of Mary E. Briggs. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mary E. Briggs and her loved ones.
Mary E. Briggs passed away at the age of 85 on April 19th. Mary was the co-founding member and past president of the North Port Republican Club. Mary also helped out at the polls during election cycles. She volunteered at the North Port Library, City Hall, and the Chamber of Commerce, earning the Volunteer of the Year Award in 2003. Services will be held privately.
