    AUXILIARY POWER CONSUMPTION IN THERMAL POWER

    STATIONS

    11.1 The Auxiliary power consumption by the thermal stations during

    2003-04 is 9.05 % against 8.53% in 2002-03. This comprises

    the power consumption by all the unit auxiliaries as well as the

    common station requirement such as station lighting, air

    conditioning etc. The regionwise auxiliary power consumption

    as percentage of gross generation from 1999-2000 onwards is

    shown below:

    From the above table it emerges very clearly that auxiliary power consumption

    is more in Northern Regions. Stationwise auxiliary power consumption details

    from 1999-00 onwards are given in the annexure 11.1
