Virginia V Steamboat Cruise 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. Bainbridge Island City dockThe annual Cruise Around Bainbridge aboard the historic Virginia V is scheduled for 3 to 6 p.m. July 21. The beautifully restored steamship from the Mosquito Fleet days will leave from the Bainbridge Island City dock at 3 p.m. for the three-hour tour.

Dennis Lewarch, Suquamish Tribal Preservation Officer, will again share his vast knowledge of the historical relationship of the Suquamish Tribe and Bainbridge Island. The voyage will be a unique opportunity to learn about the island’s archeological sites that document the life of the Suquamish over the past 5,000 years as the ship travels along the shore. Tickets also include a delicious boxed meal, a no-host bar and an opportunity to explore the beautiful old steamship.

This annual event of the Bainbridge Island Historical Museum sells out early. Cost: $125 ($100 for Museum members) Tickets: (206) 842-2773www.bainbridgehistory.org

all capped off by the “Best Small Town Parade in America.” The mile-long parade begins at 1 p.m. sharp. The parade route goes from the library down Madison Avenue, onto Winslow Way and ends at Ericksen Avenue.

The street fair is from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and is located in the Town & Country parking lot, on Bjune and Brien streets and in Waterfront Park. It features more than 100 arts and crafts, food, non-profit and information booths.

The Grand Old Fourth is produced and presented by the Chamber of Commerce, with the help of dozens of volunteers and a handful of loyal sponsoring businesses.

Bainbridge Fireworks is the new nonprofit to fund and present the Bainbridge Island Fireworks show in conjunction with the Bainbridge Chamber of Commerce. The fireworks show is dedicated to the memory of Arnold Jackson, long-time Bainbridge volunteer firefighter and Chamber member who coordinated the Fourth’s festivities for more than 20 years.
