Congratulations to our 2019 Confirmands! Mia Albright Owen Burriss Haven Flores

Celebrating 50 & 51 Years in Ministry! On June 23, we were honored to hear two of our former (retired) pastors who still worship at Good Shepherd. Pr. Scott invited them both to preach in recognition of their 50th and 51st anniversaries of their ordination. They spoke of changes in tradition, theology, culture and faith over these past 50 years. What a gift they were to us! Thank you to Pr. Jack Ericson and Pr. Carl Wilfrid.

Leaders Paul Brosy, Robby Williams, Bob and Vicki Rye and Pastor Scott Trevithick hosted an orientation for new and prospective members of Good Shepherd in June. Some participants have already formally joined Good Shepherd, some were re-ceived in worship on June 16, and others will be received in worship soon.

New members received in Worship on June 16:

• Dominique Cheung and Patrick Huebner Dominique and Patrick came to Reno from Boston two

years ago so Dominique could work on her PhD at UNR. Patrick works as a contractor, project manager, and drafter for a construction firm. They were attracted to Good Shepherd because of the church’s mission and values in addition to the warm and wel-coming people here. They enjoy playing with the GS handbell group.

• Fred and Nada Dilger Fred and Nada moved to Reno from Las Vegas. They have twin sons. Fred works for the State of Nevada and Nada is recently retired from government and stays busy visit-ing her sons in Arizona and Henderson, Nevada. They look forward to joining some groups here. Our next orientation will be in the fall. If you are interested, please contact Pr. Scott Trevithick at [email protected].

Farewell to Lou and Karen Mendes!

From Madeline: Thank you for the delicious cake and all your good wishes on my 90th. They are very much appreciated. And a special thank you to our ever faith-ful kitchen crew.

Happy 90th birthday Madeline Ackley!
