Marissa is the daughter of Thomas and CynthiaTartaglia of Elmwood Park, Ill., and the granddaughter ofRose Dundich, of River Grove, Ill. Daniel is the son of Johnand Mary Sherrick of Mason City and the grandson ofElizabeth Sherrick of Carthage, Ill., and William and JoanPoerstel of Prophetstown, Ill.

Nauman began his trailto Eagle Scout when hejoined Cub Scout Pack 34,in September of 1997, as aTiger Cub. He became aCub Scout in 1998 andearned the ranks of bobcat,wolf, bear, and webelo. Heearned all 20 possibleactivity badges and thereligious emblem of Godand Family as a Cub Scout.In 2002, Nauman earnedCub Scouting’s highest
award, the Arrow of Light.He joined Boy Scout Troop34 in May of 2002, wasinducted into the Order ofthe Arrow in 2004 andearned membership to theOA Brotherhood in 2005.
He earned a total of 31required and elective meritbadges, and also earnedthe Red Flannel Patch andthe World ConservationAward.
Nauman participated inmany Scout activitiesincluding spring, summerand fall campouts,pinewood derbies, sport-o-ree, local canoe tripsand Klondike derbies. Heassisted with scouting forfood, popcorn and Christ-mas wreath sales, place-ment of Memorial Daycemetery flags, parking
cars for Thresher’sReunion, and color guardat sporting events andparades.
Nauman’s Eagle Scoutproject consisted ofreplacing a fence in thememorial garden in Rudd’sEast Lake Park. Hereplaced a deterioratedwooden fence with whitetwo-rail fence, and wasresponsible for the leader-ship, organization,fundraising and comple-tion of this project.
Nauman graduated fromRockford Senior HighSchool in May, 2009, andis attending North IowaArea Community College,Mason City, in the climatecontrol program. He cur-rently works for Woody’sDust Control in Rudd.
He is the son of Dennisand Carol Nauman. He hasone brother, Scott. Grand-parents are Faye and thelate Floyd Dohrmann, ofRockford, and Lester andthe late Phyllis Nauman, ofFloyd.
