Cell Selection and ReselectionMS is switched on and performs cell search. The BCCH parameters and measurements by MS

are shown on the next slide.

Other given conditions given (similar for every cell):

– Rx_Lev_Access_Min = 8 (-102 dBm)

– MS_TXPWR_MAX_CCH=5 (33 dBm)

– P = 0 (30 dBm)

Please calculate C1 and C2 to anser the following questions:

– Which cell will be selected after the MS is powered on ?

– Which cell will be reselected if current service cell is H?

C1 = RXLEV - RXLEV_ACCESS_MIN - MAX((MS_TXPWR_MAX_CCH - P), 0)

C2=C1+CRO-TO*H(PT-T)

Note: C2(N) > C2(S) + CRH(S) is a condition for cell reselection across LAC
