CTR Definition

Cell Traffic Recording (CTR) CTR collects data about

connections in specific cells.

Certain events can be used as triggers and all communicationon up- and downlink is recorded.

CTR could be used if there are specific problems found in any cell, such as an abnormal number of TCH drops.

PMR Overview – Recording CTR• Initiated for a specified BSC identity and access cell

• Maximum recording length: 1 hour

• Start Criterion:

• Cell Access (CA)

• Connection Release (CR)

• Handover (HO)

• Trace Invocation (TI)

• Recording Type: events and measurements or events only

• Time Range: total time (before and after an event) during which measurement data is to be recorded

• Recording Area: access cell, access cell and neighbors, BSC

• Useful for cell level troubleshooting

PMR Statistics Overview – Export

• To take advantage of Manhattan data processing tool, it is necessary to export data from PMR (create a TT Authority file)

• Manhattan tool provides a fast way of showing the distribution of the radio characteristics and their relation (MTR and CTR) – temporal reference

• Event data is also taken into account, when presenting the distribution of the radio characteristics at a dropped call event identification of radio environment conditions when the connection drops!!!
