Dave’s pick of the month is the Grand Cru Sauvignon Blanc. Dave
recommends this crisp white wine to any customer that wants an
affordably priced white wine that they can sip by the bonfire during
crisp spring evenings.
Says Dave, “I like the light, fruity taste and its light gold colour”
The Grand Cru Sauvignon Blanc is a traditional old-world style Sau-
vignon Blanc. It is a clean, refreshing wine that offers a light, fruit
aroma with green, herbal flavours and a touch of mint. It is truly a
unique French-style wine that ages well, but can be drank young if one is partial to crisp acidity.

Australian Culture Australian is credited for the walkabout, a right of passage
where one goes into the outback for up to six months. Aus-
tralia is a perfect blend of aborigine tradition and Western
culture! Australian is a multicultural hub in the South Pacific
and balances its Western influences with aborigine traditions
and Asian influences.
Australia is well known for its egalitarian social system, eve-
ryone is equal, which strongly contributes to its laid-back and relaxed lifestyle.
Australians are passionate about sports: surfing, rugby and football are favorites!
Australian Food Australian cuisine is a mix of European, due to the heavy influence of British set-
tlers, and native cuisine fused with Asian fare
Fresh produce is readily available through Australia and is used extensively in meals.
Areas close to the coast enjoy fresh fish and seafood frequently. Because Australia’s
climate is well-suited for barbecues, grilled meats, in particular, sausage, are a favor-
ite! Iconic Australian foods include macadamia nuts, hamburgers with shredded
lettuce and a sliced tomato, meat pie!

Barolo varies from ruby to garnet and will turn into a brick
colour as it ages. Because Barolo tends to be a powerful, robust wine, it needs
to be matched with meat dishes, heavy pastas and rich ri-
sottos. We offer the following Barolo
wines:
Heritage Estates Barolo - $55
Grand Cru Barolo - $70
GCI Italian Barolo - $79
Cru Select Italian Barolo - $100

to 10 years to completely soften.
The tannins in Barolo are the direct
result of a common practice of fermenting the wine on grape skins
and then aging it in wooden casks.
Like many wines with a heavy
European influence, Barolo is gen-
erally produced in an area referred
to as the Barolo zone, southwest of
the Barbaresco zone. The Barolo
zone tends to be cooler and at a
higher elevation than the Bar-
baresco zone.
Overall, Barolos tends to be rich,
full bodied with a lively acidity and
pronounced tannins. Colouring for

generally only comes from vine-
yards planted in calcareous-clay
soils in wills with specific slopes
and orientations, as only these
growing conditions are suitable
for Barolo.
Barolo often has intense earthy
and floral aromas, particularly
roses and is often quite tannic. In
