Oldest grave

• Leonora Love the 18-year-old daughter of Robert Love who had died in 1867.

Henry Johnson Family

• Moved from Hoss Family Cemetery to Oak Hill Cemetery in 1910.

• Later Henry and his wife, Mary Ann Hoss were moved to the large monument in their honor.

THE SURVEY

• Cemetery is divided into sections by foot paths and roads.

• Each tombstone was recorded and photographed

• Unmarked graves were also noted.

BURNED RECORDS

• Margaret and Elaine spent 155 hours digitizing the 799 burned cards.

• Staples had to be removed

• Cards carefully separated

• Scanned

Margaret used her skills to finalize the process.

• Stored in acid-free sleeves and boxes

• Records are available on DVDs to be viewed:

• Cards with obituaries• Some even have relations and tell of family

members buried in other cemeteries• Business records of Oak Hill• Annual reports• DVDs of the survey
