COnStruCtiOn manaGEmEnt GraduatE CErtifiCatEThis three-term Graduate Certificate in Construction Management integrates a modular design with a principle focus on construction management and an ancillary focus on general project management in a construction environment. The construction module includes topics such as construction management information systems and scheduling. The project management module expands the scope of studies to include specialized techniques associated with larger, complex projects and the management of multiple projects. Course work will provide a strong basis to prepare students to write the PMP certification exam. Drawing upon in-house expertise, the certificate program will emphasize sustainability and green building practice, distinguishing Centennial College’s offering from other construction management programs.

fOOd SCiEnCE tECHnOLOGyPresently, the Province of Ontario is home to approximately 3,700 food processing companies whose combined contribution to the economy reaches close to $30 billion and employs close to 110,000 people. Further, a recent Alliance of Ontario Food Processors (AOFP) study underscored a growing difficulty in finding a sufficient number of workers with the appropriate skills needed to keep Ontario’s food processing industry competitive and productive. Recent concerns over bacterium outbreaks such as Listeria Monocytogenes and the potential fatal consequences only further highlight the importance of food safety to the general population. By launching the Food Science Technology advanced diploma program, Centennial College will be among the first Colleges in Ontario to recognize the food industry’s need for highly skilled professionals and the potential for growth in this area.

The Commercial Baker program is designed to meet this industry demand for people skilled in producing baked goods. Students will learn to produce commercial quantities of breads, rolls, sweet dough, savoury and sweet pastry, danish and puff pastry, cookies, cakes and desserts.

After a two-semester full-time training program graduates are qualified for entry level positions in retail bakeries, supermarkets, department stores, hotels, camps, and other related businesses.
