Mission

• Maximize the value of the ISS to the nation by developing and managing a diversified R&D portfolio and by using the ISS as a venue for Sciencediversified R&D portfolio and by using the ISS as a venue for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) educational activities.

• Stimulate, develop and manage the U.S. National Lab utilization of the ISS by other U.S. government agencies, academic institutions and private firms.

• Develop tools and techniques to communicate the value of uses of the ISS National Lab and increase the return on the U.S. investment in the ISS.

Research pathway maps connect basic research, applied research and resulting mission and market applications. Viewed as a continuum, promising pathways can be identified so as to shorten cycle time for translation of developing science and technology applications to practical use and application. Projects will be evaluated in the context app cat o s to p act ca use a d app cat o . ojects w be eva uated t e co te tof the overall research pathway map, to provide a basis for return on investment and for creation of added value.
