Central Kids Care Club needs your help! Join us in making the holidays brighter!

You can help by giving permission on the slip below for your child to obtain a paper ornament from Mrs. Maley, the School Counselor. Please return the permission slip by no later than Friday, December 9, 2016 to the Central office. Students who return the permission slip will be called to the office after morning announcements to select an ornament. Most of the ornaments have gift ideas for a specific age/gender. Because those ornaments are limited, there are also some that simply ask for a gift card. Any gift cards received will be distributed to the families to help with their holiday expenses. Please place gift cards in an envelope with the ornament attached, and “Caring Tree” written on the front. If you are purchasing a specific item, please return it unwrapped, with the ORNAMENT and a GIFT RECEIPT attached to Mrs. Maley’s office. Please return gifts by Wednesday, December 14. We will deliver these items to the families in time for the holidays. Your generosity will make such a difference, and gives us all a chance to experience the joy of giving and sharing with others.

Thank you in advance for your kindness, and Happy Holidays to all of our Central Families.

CALLING ALL BAKERS!!!!

On December 10th, the Hampton Bands will be holding their annual Holiday Cookie Walk in conjunction with the Holiday Extravaganza at Hampton High School. Proceeds from this event benefit the Elementary, Middle, and High School band programs. For those who aren’t familiar with how it works. . .

We ask willing band families (and friends of the band) to bake a minimum of 4 dozen of their favorite holiday cookie.

Cookies will be trayed and clearly labeled with the type of cookie and displayed on tables.

Customers will be provided with a plastic glove and a take-out container and they will proceed through the Cookie Walk choosing their favorite cookies.

When finished making their selections, they will pay for their cookies by weight at $9 per pound. We typically have close to 100 different kinds of cookies and well over 5,000 cookies! Feel free to sign up for one of the cookies listed on the Sign Up Genius, add your own family favorite, or try a new recipe. We are requesting a minimum of 4 dozen of the same kind of cookie from each baker, although feel free to sign up for several different kinds! Several bakers making the same type of cookie is OK, but keep in mind that we want to offer as large of a selection as possible so customers will have a hard time choosing and be enticed to buy more! If we get too many sign ups for the same type of cookie we may need to reach out to ask a baker to consider a different cookie. When deciding on a cookie to contribute, remember that the cookies are going from your original container, then to a tray, then to the customer’s container. Consider cookies that will hold up well in their travels and still make a nice presentation when the customer serves them. Due to the fact that many of the participating vendors sell candy items, we will not be taking homemade candy to sell in the Cookie Walk. Cookies should be delivered in a DISPOSABLE box or container. We will be unable to keep track of containers/trays that need to be returned to individuals. Also, please clearly mark your box/container with the name of the cookie so we can accurately label them when trayed so that customers can easily identify what is available for purchase. Drop off dates, times and locations are as follows: Friday, December 9th – Hampton High School Cafeteria from 4 pm – 8pm Saturday, December 10th – Hampton High School Cafeteria no later than 8am. WE WOULD PREFER TO HAVE ALL COOKIES ON FRIDAY EVENING IF POSSIBLE TO ALLOW FOR SET UP If you are absolutely unable to drop off at the High School on Friday or Saturday morning, please contact Lisa Wagner – [email protected] to make other arrangements. Sign Up Genius link = http://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0c4ba5ab28a2f85-cookie1. If you enjoy baking for the holidays, please consider baking a few extra dozen for the Cookie Walk! Remember that this event benefits ALL Hampton Band students so even if you don’t have a child in the High School Band, your child will still benefit from the proceeds of this event Feel free to contact Lisa Wagner with any questions at [email protected] or 412-980-8902. Thanks for your support!
