SSince themodest beginnings ofour company in 1987, we have

experienced unprecedented growth.Until 1990, our customers, serveddirectly fromAustria, were usuallystate-owned trade organizations.

After the changes in Central andEastern Europe, we are nowsupplying mostly the end users.

Focused on themeasurement ofionizing radiation, we have beencontinuously expanding our rangeof products. Meanwhile, we alsosell devices for cancer treatment,nuclearmedicine, biotechnology,pharmaceutical research andmeteorology.

More than 70 staffmembers fromour offices in Austria, Belarus,Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary,Poland, Romania, Russia, SlovakRepublic and Ukraine help ourcustomers solve their applicationproblems.

The EU enlargement processpresents awelcome challenge toour operations. Eight out of theten new EUmembers fromthe firstenlargement wave arewithin oursales and distribution area. In five ofthese countries we alreadyhave oursubsidiaries. The recent addition oftwo new states to the EU club hasfound us well prepared with existingoffices in Sofia and Bucuresti.In addition, wewill continue andexpand our activities in all othercountries within our sales area.

OOur company was establishedin 1987 in Schwadorf, Austria,

as Silena VertriebsgesellschaftGmbH – a representative ofthe Italian radiation detection &measurement equipmentmanufacturer SILEnA.

In 1994, due to the change ofour major supplier to CanberraIndustries, Inc., we have adoptedour current name – CAnBERRAPACkARD Central Europe GmbH.The company’s main activitieswere sales, installation, andservice of ionizing radiationdetection & measurementinstrumentation for industrial,medical, and environmentalapplications. A number of localoffices have been establishedin Central and Eastern Europe,putting us even closer to ourcustomers and offering localknow-how. The outstandingquality of our products andservices has made us the largestsupplier in the region.

Throughout the following years,our product portfolio has beencontinuously expanded to includemedical and analytical equipmentand instrumentation of leadingEuropean and US manufacturers.At the same time, the after-salessupport and service infrastructurehas grown significantly, includingthe increase of the number oflocal subsidiaries to ten.

We have successfully imple-mented a number of projectsranging from single-instrumentdelivery to multimillion inter-national tenders. Our customersare small private companies,government organizationsand research centers, all12 nuclear power plants in ourregion, as well as internationalorganizations such as theEuropean Commission, theWorld Bank, the EuropeanBank for Reconstruction andDevelopment, and the WorldHealth Organization.
