The third week of Advent, Gaudete Sunday, is always an occasion of joy.

With these Scripture lessons, however, comes an expectation that the people of God will “do” something

to be a part of the inheritance promised to Abraham. Zephaniah instructs the people to “not let your hands grow weak”

(Zep. 3:16), and John offers further teaching: “Bear fruits worthy of repentance” (Lk. 3:7-16).

Share cookies for our Mills’ Christmas Eve Cookie Ministry. Named in honor of Bill & Freddie Mills who started this annual ministry. You are invited to participate in this ministry by bringing homemade cookies to the church kitchen on Christmas Eve before the 5:30 worship service. The cookies will be arranged on trays and delivered to the local law enforcement agencies, the hospital, nursing homes and fire stations. We do this as a way of showing our appreciation to those who keep our community safe over the holiday season by working long hours while we celebrate the season with our loved ones. Jerry and Jackie Mount are coordinating this ministry. Please call

276-6085 if you would be willing to help deliver cookies.
