The history of JSC «Plava» started in 1874. Right those time the domestic shop of Alexey Teplyakov, a peasant from Sergiyevskoye Village (former name of Plavsk town), put out its first products. Those were wooden thrashers and other agricultural implements. Later on the shop grew out and became a factory, which got its nowadays name in 1925. In other 3 years the enterprise heightened its status and became a plant.

Beginning from the late 30s the enterprise started production of liquid centrifugal separators. All the time later on laborious task was fulfilled with the purpose of creation production base, improvement of equipment, expansion of model range of separators, introduction of progressive technology.

Separation technology has been existing for more than a century and today we can confidently say that equipment made by «Plava» completely corresponds to the requirements applied to this tech-nology.

Separators and cookers are used in many branches of industry: dairy, brewery and beverage, starch and treacle, edible oil and others.

Quality of processing, which is obtained on our equipment, and mod-els of separators completely correspond to customers demands in all branches of food industry.

The engineering plant «PLAVA» occupies the leading place of production of separators on Russian market due to reliability and quality of launched equipment.

According to the researches made by the marketing company «Abercade Consulting», JSC Plavsk Engineering Works «Plava» enters into first five leading producers of dairy processing equipment.

Presently, about half a million enterprises all over the world were certified the Quality Management System to the correspondence of the requirements of Standards ISO 9000. In Russia only 1500 enterprises were successfully certified the quality manage-ment system for correspondence to the requirements of ISO 9000 (QMS) standards.

In Russia only 1500 enterprises are successfully certified and «Plava» is among them.

The basic task of our quality system is not to control every item but to do it so that there are no blunders in work, which could cause rejects (poor quality of products and service).

Work at introduction of quality management system in «Plava» company started on these principles.

In 2001 JSC «Plavsk engineering plant «Plava» was certified by the Body for Certification «Intercertifika-TUV» by standard ISO-9001-94. At present QMS of our enterprise corresponds to standard ISO 9001:2008.

Today all equipment made by «Plava» corresponds to the requirements of the state and sanitary standards applied to such items and what is the most important it cor-responds to our customers requirements. Quality system of «Plava» is unique on its own. It is not limited by only one kind of activity. The system covers the whole pro-duction cycle beginning from development to guarantee and post guarantee service.

Our separators are furnished with control systems of different complexity level: starting from simple up to completely automatized, which control level, tem-perature and moisture of oil in the crank case of the bed, vibration characteris-tics, and rotational frequency of the bowl, flow rate and pressure of incoming and outcoming product.

This time separators are equipped with modern pressure gauges which are more reliable and handy, hydraulic systems and control desks for self discharging separators which completely replace the ones of old types.

By customers' requirements in addition to the equipment they have it is possible to deliver filters and furnish cream separators with standardizers.

Milk occupies a considerable place in the nutrition structure of people. Thanks to its health — giving qualities and healing proper-ties this beverage created by nature provides the human body with calcium and amino acid. Milk of different animals consists of 80-87 % of water and accordingly 13-20 % of dry substances — albumen, milk sugar, minerals.

But fat and albumen content in milk are important but not the sole index of milk quality. Furthermore these are the permissible acidity norms, absence of pathogenic bacterium, antibiotics, used for vet-erinary science, unhealthy substances, foreign smell and smack. Every dairy processing plant lays down its own requirements for equipment they buy. For all this the main aim of the manufacturer is not only to produce milk but to collect, to keep and to supply it to a customer, its prime quality being preserved. Nowadays with considerable volumes of production and milk processing it is pos-sible only in case, if a manufacturer owns the necessary equip-ment.

OIL REFINEMENT

Corn starch is a raw stuff for modified starch production of dif-

ferent kinds: jellifying, hydrolyzed, swelling, oxidized, phos-

phate, extruded and others which are used in confectionery,

paper, textile and others branches of industry.

These examples of starch and its derivatives using give just some

idea about varied and still growing use of them in many branch-

es of industry.

In connection with high economic and ecological standards cen-

trifugal separation is the main technology used in these branch-

es of industry.

Therefore practically none of food or confectionery production

can do without equipment made by our plant.

Application:

• Oil cleaning at stages of neutralization.

Treatment of oil with alkali solution is one of the widely practised refining meth-

ods. At interaction of fatty acids with alkali solution insoluble in neutral fat salt

is formed. This salt is soap. Its aqueous solution is separated from oil as solution

is very dense. Separated soapy substance is called soap stock. When oil is treated

by aqueous alkali solution, it gets neutralized. Soap, which has strong absorptive

power, extracts a great part of admixtures from oil (proteins, mucus, colouring

matters, phosphatide, and mechanical admixtures). This explains the reason

why this alkali refining method at edible and industrial oil refining is widely used.

Continuous alkali refining method with the help of separators is widely intro-

duced into production practice.

Separator for hot beer wort clarifica-tion

At secondary fermentation and ageing beer is not completely clarified. Yeast

particles, protein and polyphenol substances and a number of other com-

pounds, forming dredge, remain in beer in suspension. Beer undergoes clarifica-

tion by separation or filtration, or by both.

Characteristic feature of centrifugal separation technology is high efficiency of

cleaning. For example, 99% of yeast is removed at beer clarification.

It is known that taste and stability of wine beside other factors depend on

degrees and methods of its clarification. Even young wine, which is cloudy and

hard to clean by other methods, can be cleaned by separation easily without loss

of carbon dioxide and bouquet.

Application:

• Beer clarification before bottling;

• Ordinary wine and juice clarification.

Application:

• Cleaning of fat extracted from fish broth in fat and flour units;

• Animals’ blood separation into plasma and red cells.

To get plasma and red cells from blood separation is used.

The separator J5-ASE-B with centrifugal automatic periodic discharge of sediment

is intended for continuous clarifying of cultural liquid with volumetric content

of suspended particles 1%, not more. The separator-clarifier is of semi closed type with

centrifugal automatic periodic discharge of sediment.

The separator J5-ASG-3M is intended for extraction

of ballast proteins at production of antitoxic serum,

extraction of microbial bodies, anatoxins,

clearing of different medical suspensions.

A set of equipment for diesel fuel and motor oil cleaning of J5-TRCP-1-KO model

is intended for diesel fuel, motor oil and other similar kinds of liquid cleaning

from admixtures and water.

Application:

• Diesel oil and motor oil dehydration and cleaning from mechanical admixture.

• For separation of suspensions into two or three fractions and dehydration of solid fraction

• Fuel waste water dehydration.

Centrifuge RGSh-353K, a continuous horizontal unit with screw

sludge discharge is intended for solid fraction dehydration and sepa-

ration of suspensions into two or three fractions. Such centrifuges

can be installed in explosion hazard zones of B-1a class.
