Course Contents

The success of the operation of an IETS is primarily in the handsof the operator. A knowledgeable and skilled operator orsupervisor knows how to monitor the processes occurring in hisIETS, understands what factors affect the IETS performance,knows what operational conditions are best for his IETS and howto maintain them, knows how to respond to upset conditions,understands the social obligations and legal implications fornoncompliance.

Successful operation of an IETS is an integral part of theoperation of a successful industry. A trained and skilled IETSoperator or supervisor is not anymore a luxury but rather amust-have to the industry. Good environmental performancenot only portray positive corporate image, but avoid possibilityof factory downtime and hefty monetary penalties due to legalactions from the environmental authority. The industries mustpay great attention to the training of their staff in the properoperation and maintenance of the IETS. EiMAS is providing atraining program to train your IETS operators and supervisor tobe competent in operating IETS particularly in conductingperformance monitoring of the IETS components. Thecompetent operator or supervisor will ensure that the IETS isoperating optimally.

This unique training course which focuses on hands-on approachis in fact the only one of its kind in Malaysia. A Certificate ofCompetency will be awarded to participants who successfullycompletes the course, passes the examination and submits a fieldtraining report.

Dato’ Dr. Ahmad Kamarul Najuib holds a B. Eng. in Agriculture fromUnversiti Putra Malaysia, a M.Sc. in Pollution and Env. Control fromUniversity of Manchester, UK and a PhD in EnvironmentalTechnologies, from Universiti Sains Malaysia. He has over 25 yearsexperience in industrial pollution control and currently DeputyDirector General (Development), Department of Environment,Malaysia. Dr. Najuib has been closely collaborating with Dr.Shamsudin on several training assignments and is a regular trainer atEiMAS on industrial effluent engineering and air pollution controlengineering. Prof (Adj) Dr. Ir. Shamsudin Hj Ab Latif is a registered chemicalengineer who holds a B. Sc. in Chemical Eng. from Leeds University,UK., a M. Eng. In Environmental Eng. from Asian Institute ofTechnology, Bangkok, Thailand, and a Sc. D in Public Health, fromTulane University New Orleans, USA. Dr. Shamsudin’s experience inindustrial pollution control spans over 30 years with several technicalguidance documents to his credit. He is instrumental in initiating anddeveloping competency certification programs for the DOE’s officersand the industry. Dr. Shamsudin is a certified trainer and a certifiedtraining evaluator.
