Trail Hub Exhibition / Arddangosfa Ganolog y Daith

Special! Rare and Fine! Unique! Amazing! Waiting to be discovered! With no exaggeration these words describe the wealth of arts and

crafts to be found when you explore the unspoiled countryside and coast on the Ceredigion Art Trail this August.

The Trail offers the opportunity to meet artists and makers, to learn first hand about their work and techniques and perhaps to buy direct from the artist.

Forty-nine artists will open their studios from 16th to 31st August, together with eleven Group Exhibitions. In addition, there are eight Taster Exhibitions and the Trail Hub Exhibition (at the Gas Gallery, Aberystwyth) which are open throughout August.

The artists and makers are listed geographically from north to south, so please look through the maps, artist directory and calendar of studio opening dates to plan your own route. At the end of the guide you will find the calendar, artists listed by type of media and a listing of arts events and workshops.

Cynhelir arddangosfeydd cynnig blas mewn amryw leoliadau diddorol ac mae ynddynt arddangosfa o waith artistiaid lleol y Daith. Fe’u nodir ar fap y daith gyda’r llythrennau A -I. Mae pob un ar agor o 1 i 31 Awst ac eithrio Llanerchaeron sydd ar agor o 16-27 Awst.

Tasters are held in a variety of interesting venues and have an exhibition of work from local Trail artists. They are marked on the trail map with the letters A - I. They are all open August 1-31st except Llanerchaeron which is open August 16-27th.

We are a newly formed group of 5 female artists exhibiting together. The work is varied. It includes acrylic, watercolours, pen and ink and collage.Rydym yn grŵp newydd gael ein ffurfio o 5 merch sy’n arlunwyr yn arddangos gyda’n gilydd. Mae’r gwaith yn amrywiol gan gynnwys acrylig, dyfrlliw, pen ac inc a gludwaith.

Directions: In Siop Cynfelyn in Tre’rddol on the A487, 9 miles from Aberystwyth and Machynlleth. On bus route T2 and X28, parking available. Siop Cynfelyn is a community project run partly by volunteers. Its focus is on locally produced Welsh produce where possible. The café sells excellent home made food and a variety of coffees and teas.

Open/Agor: August 16th - 31st. From 10am - 5pm Tuesday to Sunday; 10am - 1pm on Monday.

Ann Soloman My special interest is in pen and wash but I enjoy most arts and crafts. Mae fy nghefndir mewn celf fotanegol a dyfrlliw yw fy hoff gyfrwng. Rydw i’n defnyddio cynnwys amrywiol.

Flic Eden I paint pictures in acrylic of people and places. My travels influence my work. Peintiaf luniau o bobl a lleoedd mewn acrylig. Mae fy nheithiau’n dylanwadu ar fy ngwaith.

Juliet Regan My background is Botanical art and my favourite media is watercolour. I use a variety of subject matter.Mae fy nghefndir mewn celf fotanegol a dyfrlliw yw fy hoff gyfrwng. Rydw i’n defnyddio cynnwys amrywiol.

Shelagh Hourahane I am interested in individual elements or details in landscape and in found objects that seem to have a story to tell or which relate to a particular place.Mae gennyf ddiddordeb mewn elfennau unigol neu fanylion mewn tirlun ac mewn gwrthrychau a ganfuwyd yr ymddengys bod ganddynt stori i’w hadrodd neu sy’n ymwneud â lle penodol.

Jane Burnham My interest is in painting people and how people interact, both with each other and with their environment.Mae fy niddordeb mewn peintio pobl a sut mae pobl yn rhyngweithio, gyda’i gilydd a chyda’u hamgylchedd.

Ceredigion Art Society was originally formed by Hywel Harries in 1963 and has played a major part in the cultural life of the area for over 50 yrs.

As a society members enjoy monthly meetings with talks and demonstrations by well known and developing artists, membership further allows the opportunity to exhibit as a group twice a year.

We meet on the last Friday of the month at 7.30pm.in St Annes Church Hall, Penparcau, Aberystwyth. It is for anyone who practices or has an interest in art. You would be most welcome to join us.

Ceredigion Craft Makers are a co-operative of artists, designer makers and craftspeople who live and work in Ceredigion. CCM will be hosting two exhibitions for the trail: August 17-23 Guildhall Cardigan and August 24-31 Village Hall Capel Seion. Our members work with Wood, Metal, Textiles, Ceramics as well as Paintings and Jewellery. Visit our website for a full list of members and their work.

We are a small group who enjoy experimenting with all kinds of printmaking – linoprints to lithographs and anything in between. We generally work freely on individual pieces, but have occasional workshops with visiting tutors to develop particular techniques – most recently, reduction lino-printing. We trust that the pleasure we take in printmaking shines through in our finished work. During the Art Trail, as well as displaying our prints in the hall, we also expect to be active in the art room showing visitors how we work and encouraging them to have a go.
