Antonio Hernandez, a student at Oak GroveHigh School, is a young man with great desire to excel, and to whom obstacles do not stop, aims to make a di�erence in the Hispanic community and inspire others not to stop, Antonio is a boy withmany aspirations and today is our student Local Community Hero.

We had the chance to meet Miss Tara Coburn, a teacher who loves what she does, dedicated, who aims not only to teach to meet a program, Miss Tara goes further, she tries to train people, professionals, when they leave school, have a purpose and seek to give the best of them, Miss Tara is a teacher with passion and today is our hero in Local Community Heroes Publication.

Antonio Hernández, estudiante en Oak GroveHigh School, es un joven con muchos deseos de superación, y a quien los obstáculos no lo detienen, tiene como meta poder marcar una diferencia en la comunidad Hispana e inspirar a otros a que no se detengan, Antonio es un muchacho con muchas aspiraciones y hoy es nuestro estudiante Héroe de la Comunidad.

Tuvimos la oportunidad de conocer a Miss Tara Coburn, una maestra que ama lo que hace, dedicada, quien tiene como objetivo no solo enseñar para cumplir con un programa, Miss Tara va más allá, ella trata de formar personas, profesionales, que al salir de la escuela, tengan un propósito y busquen dar lo mejor de ellos, Miss Tara es una maestra con pasión y hoy es la maestra Heroe, en nuestra publicación, Héroes de la Comunidad.

Q: Can you tell the reader, What was the Incident happened in your life that you will like to share with Readers? What are the things you should watch out when you growing up?A: I remember my grandfather told me never to forget who I am, no matter what successes, no matter anything, I always have to be myself and do not forget that I am Antonio, that remains fresh in my memory, and that is what I would like to share with readers, always remember who you really are.

Q: What is that one thing you did that anyone can do to achieve what you have?A: Involved, indeed the community at the school is great, there are many clubs which may be a part, in fact, I belong to three, it is a very nice atmosphere and a great opportunity, new people meet and passes very good.

Q: Who was the most In�uential person in your life besides your parents?A: Well, there are many people who have in�uenced my life, several mentors, and teachers, but especially Miss Coburn, she always gives more, impels us that we get involved in our classes, we motivate us and helped me grow as a person and in my career, she is my inspiration.

Q: Was there a teacher that inspired you in the classroom?A: Miss Coburn, it always involves us, the truth she is a great teacher.

Q: How your friends react to their achievements and how it inspires?A: It is more a shock, it is sometimes di�cult for people to believe that someone like me, or especially with a name like mine, Antonio Hernandez, to perform or perform important functions, so the reaction of people is more than impact or shock.As I breathe, because I want to be that person who makes the di�erence among Hispanics.

Q: What do you like to do when you not at school?A: Good, school keeps me well occupied, but I work weekends, I am also a volunteer at Kaiser and belong to the Boy Scouts.

P: Podría compartir con nuestros lectores, ¿Qué incidente importante sucedió en su vida y qué cosas impactantes ha visto a través de sus años de crecimiento, que han hecho que usted busque un enfoque diferente en su vida?R: Recuerdo que mi abuelo me decía que nunca olvidara quien soy, no importan los éxitos logrados, no importa nada, siempre debo de ser yo mismo y no olvidar que soy Antonio, eso permanece fresco en mí memoria, y es lo que me gustaría compartir con los lectores, que siempre recuerden quienes son realmente ustedes.

P: ¿Qué es lo que usted ha hecho que cualquier otra persona puede hacer para lograr el éxito que usted tiene?R: Involucrarse, en verdad la comunidad en la escuela es grande, hay muchos clubs de los cuales se puede ser parte, de hecho, yo pertenezco a tres, es un ambiente muy bonito, y una gran oportunidad, se conoce gente nueva y se la pasa muy bien.

P: ¿Cómo reaccionan sus amigos a sus logros y cómo los inspira?R: Es más una reacción de impacto, a veces es difícil para las personas creer que alguien como yo, o sobre todo con un nombre como el mío, Antonio Hernández, pueda desempeñar o realizar funciones importantes, así que la reacción de las personas es más de impacto o asombro.Como los inspiro, pues quiero ser esa persona que haga la diferencia entre los hispanos.

Q: Can you tell the reader, What was the incident happened in your life that you will like to share with Readers? What made you decide to be a teacher?A: My mother was a school teacher, in fact, I admire my mother, and theirs is something of my vocation when I decided to be a teacher? One day in high school I started thinking it would to leave, I said, I like English and I like to teach, so it was in that moment I decided to be a teacher.

Q: What is that one thing all students can do to get the same result as Antonio?A: I think if more e�ort is put into what we do, whether we like it or not, as does Antonio, are more likely to be a successful person, I'm not one to think that if it is not successful in high school is not successful will after or vice versa, but I can say that if there are dedication and continuous e�ort in learning can succeed as Antonio.

Q: Who was the most in�uential person in your life besides your parents?A: My cousin Lori, she was born with a birth defect that a�ects the hips, doctors said she would never walk and her walk, she would never have children and she now has 3 children, she endured many surgeries, di�cult times, to intimidation and he never gave up, all that inspires me to be a strong person in di�cult situations and that no matter what, it’s always possible.

Q: Was there a teacher that inspired you in the classroom?A: My �fth grade teacher, Mrs. Sandra Slade, she was a wonderful model for me, was very positive, friendly, dressed very striking, and traveled a lot, always shared stories of her travels in the class, in fact, after the school had a nice relationship, she inspired me to be the teacher that I am now.

Q: How other teachers and your friends react to your accomplishments and how it has challenged you?A: My family and my friends admire and respect my commitment to students on inspiring others because try to show that if we achieve good communication and harmony with students can get respect and love them.

Q: What do you like to do when you not teaching?A: Teaching for me is my life, but other than that I like, walking, being with my family, playing with my nephews and my dog Twinkie, yoga, meditation, and above all, I like to travel, explore new places around the world.

P: Podría decirle a nuestros lectores, ¿Cuál fue el incidente ocurrido en su vida que le gustaría compartir con los lectores? ¿Por qué decidió ser maestra? R: Mi madre fue maestra de secundaria, de hecho, admiro mucho a mi madre, y de ahí hay algo de mí vocación, cuando decidí ser maestra, un día en secundaria me puse a pensar que haría al salir, me dije, megusta el inglés y me gusta enseñar, así que fue en ese momento que decidí de ser maestra.

P: ¿Qué es lo que todo estudiante podría hacer para conseguir el mismo resultado que Antonio? R: Creo que si se pone más empeño en lo que se hace, nos guste o no, como lo hace Antonio, hay más probabilidades de ser una persona exitosa, no soy de las que creo que si no se es exitoso en secundaria no se será exitoso después, o viceversa, pero puedo decir que, si hay dedicación y continuo esfuerzo en aprender se puede lograr el éxito de Antonio.

P: ¿Quién fue la persona más in�uyente en su vida, además de sus padres?R: Mi prima Lorri, ella nació con un defecto de nacimiento que afecta las caderas, los doctores dijeron que ella nunca podría caminar y ella camino, que nunca tendría hijos y ella ahora tiene 3 hijos, ella soporto muchas cirugías, tiempos difíciles, hasta intimidación y nunca se rindió, todo eso me inspira a ser una persona fuerte en situaciones difíciles y que no importa que, siempre se puede.

P: ¿Qué maestro la inspiró en el salón de clases?R: Mi maestra de quinto grado, Sra. Sandra Slade, ella fue un modelo maravilloso para mí, era muy positiva, amistosa, vestía muy llamativa, y viajaba mucho, siempre compartía las historias de sus viajes en la clase, de hecho, después de la escuela teníamos una bonita relación, ella me inspiro a ser la maestra que ahora soy.

P: ¿Cómo otros maestros y sus amigos reaccionan a sus logros y cómo los ha inspirado?R: Mi familia y mis amigos admiran y respetan mi dedicación con los estudiantes, sobre inspirar a otros, pues trato de mostrarles que si logramos una buena comunicación y armonía con los estudiantes, se puede obtener respeto y cariño de ellos.

P: ¿Qué le gusta hacer en su tiempo libre?R: Enseñar para mi es mi vida, pero aparte de eso me gusta, caminar, estar con mi familia, jugar con mis sobrinos y mi perro Twinkie, hacer yoga, meditación, y sobre todo, me gusta viajar, explorar nuevos lugares en todo el mundo.

Paresean Pesto Tilapia By Lindsay (pinchofyum.com)

INGREDIENTES:4 �letes de tilapia de 6 onzas¼ de taza de pesto de albahaca½ taza de queso parmesano rallado1 taza de tomates frescos picadossal, pimienta, jugo de limón, la mantequilla derretida

DIRECTIONS:1. Preheat the broiler. Pat the tilapia dry with a paper towel.Place on a baking sheet lined with foil. Coat the foil with cooking spray or olive oil to prevent sticking.2. Sprinkle each �sh �lets with 2 tablespoons of Parmesan cheese.Broil for 10-11 minutes or until the �sh is no longer translucent and the cheese is browned on the top.3. Top each �let with fresh tomatoes and a tablespoon of pesto. If you have extra Parmesan, add just a tiny bit over the top of the �sh, tomatoes, and pesto - it can look really pretty. :) Top with salt, pepper, lemon juice, and/or melted butter.

Alum Rock Annual Garage SaleAlum Rock Annual Garage Sale was the most amazing garage sale that Nury and Hemant had ever seen (the narrator of the video and the younglady that appears occasionally in the same video). This has been going on for over 20 years according to some of the home owners we talked to. From the Children, to adults and elderlies alike, everyone was excited about the event.

Did you know you can receive legal help withno out of pocket costs? Follow the steps listedon the back, even in a minor accident, andsave yourself time and future headaches.

CAR ACCIDENTSARE NEVER FUN.

We hope you are never in an accident. But if you are, take these steps and make the process as easy as possible.

Exchange information. Make sure you get the other driver’s insurance information. Take a picture with your phone to avoid error.

Take pictures. Use your smart phone to take pictures of the cars, people, location. You can’t have too many pictures.

Get a copy of the police report. Insurance companies will rely on the statements of both drivers. If there is a police report, it will significantly assist in determining payouts.

Don’t refuse medical attention. Nothing is more suspicious to an insurance company than somebody who says they aren’t injured at the scene, and then has an injury three days later. Immediately following an accident your adrenaline is high. This can mask pain.Get checked out as soon as possible.

Contact a lawyer. Remember - the insurance companies want to pay as little as possible. Lawyers are well versed in negotiating the best settlement for you. Many firms, including ours, can do this with no up front cost to our clients.
