  • BIPV

A photovoltaic module or installation in the context of BIPV has one ore more of the following functions:

     Mechanical rigidity or structural integrity

Primary weather impact protection: rain, snow, wind, hail

Energy economy, such as shading, daylighting, thermal insulation

     Fire protection

     Noise protection

Separation between indoor and outdoor environments

     Security, shelter or safety

    • A “specifikation” of BIPV and a list of the different kinds and installation options are listed in EN 50583 (1 and 2)

    • In any case all BIPV modules should fulfill the reqirements of the PV standards IEC / EN 61215 and 61730

    • Further reqirements, depending of the kind of BIPV are listed in EN 50583

    • In additon different building regulation for each country must be considered

  • Power Electronics / CE declaration

The manufacturer is responsible that all products which are marked fullfil all EU rules.

This has to be confirmed with the CE declaration

That means for standard PV modules: The “Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU” with the harmonized standard EN 61730

For additional elektical or electronic parts further regulation and standards may come into consideration

The Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC Directive 2014/30/EU)

− In case of a “system” (fixed mounting of different parts) it is not enough to qualify each electronic part, the whole system has to be tested.

The Radio Equipment Directive 2014/53/EU (RED) may also be considered.

Live time of the electronic ?
