WHO IS THIS PROGRAM FOR?

Carwatha Football College has been operating since 2018.It is a school football program that is based in Melbourne’s

South East and is for students interested in developingtheir technical skills and tactical understanding

of the world game during school hours. Our Sportsand Recreation football program is a pathway to

higher education and football experiences.

The Certi�cate III Sports and Recreation (Football Model) is designed to incorporate the CarwathaFootball Academy as well as introducing girls and boys to employment and education opportunitieswithin the sport and recreation industry. The program will feature the latest training methods,including skill acquisition, conditioning, mental preparation, game intelligence and footballawareness.

Must be a Year 10, 11 or 12 student next year. Students who enrol within the Certi�cate III Sports andRecreation Football Program for next year, must also enrol with Carwatha Football Academy.

CLASS SIZE: Maximum of 22 students

COURSE DURATION 2 YEARS

Annual fees include coaching, uniform, excursion, external school games and bus travel, coursebooklets and �rst aid training.

All students taking part in the program need to see their VET coordinators for program fees.*Please note: payment plans are available, please contact us for further details. School materials are indicative costings for 2020 and subject to change

WHAT DOES THE STUDENT ATHLETE STUDY IN CERTIFICATE III SPORT & RECREATION?

Carwatha Football College delivers an exciting and professional Cert III Sport and Recreation footballprogram for ALL boys and girls student athletes (open to all schools). The football program is acombination of classroom academic subjects that are football speci�c in their content and also includeson �eld practice, training matches and games plus sports science activities.

Across the two years of Cert III Sport and Recreation (Football Model) student athletes will study anapplied academic and practical component to develop and maintain high performance. This targeted and expertly delivered aspect of the curriculum develops the student athlete in areas of designing andconducting football programs, delivering football coaching sessions with foundation level participants,developing student athletes in areas of recovery and performance, �tness pro�ling and conditioningalong with fundamental concepts of football.

ACADEMIC ASSESSMENT

ACCREDITATION UPON COMPLETION

The program in Cert III Sport and Recreation will have a focus on growing the academic abilities of allstudents. It will ensure a rich academic program is delivered that allows a sporting focus pathway,incorporating a broad range of VET subjects, which ensures the student athlete achieves success through this educational and footballing pathway.

Students will be accredited units 1 & 2 towards their VCE program after �nishing their �rst year.Students will then automatically move into the Certi�cate III Sports & Recreation year 2 programincluding units 3&4.

The Football Academy is aimed at providing an integrated academicpathway driven by young students sporting aspirations.

This allows young student athletes to enhance and develop theirsporting talent while concurrently receiving their education.

It is crucial to the academy that student’s academic pursuits areof the highest priority and that each student’s interest and aspiration

in sport assists them in achieving high results both academicallyand athletically.

Ljuban (Lewis) Palinic holds an AFC ‘A’ Coaching Licence and is currently coaching inan A League Academy environment. Ljuban has been working in the A LeagueAcademy environment for 4 years. Ljuban has also worked with various professionalyouth coaches from Europe. He has previously held the role of Technical Director atNPL club Dandenong City SC and has just over 10 years of coaching experience bothat youth and senior level. Ljuban has also been the assistant coach at BentleighGreens SC senior team and won the NPL Championship in 2017. Ljuban is a passionatecoach always looking to improve future talent of youth players in Australia. Timothy DakisCFC Technical Director

Tim brings a wealth of football knowledge and understanding of youth developmentwho will lead our program to improve the football values and skills of our young players.Tim is the current NPL Nunawading FC Miniroos Technical Director and head foundationcoach for the National Skill Aquisition Program and also leads the development ofU12/13/14 junior players for over 10 years. Other experiences include FC BarcelonaAcademy coach, Tim Cahill Head coach and is also a part of the national team for DeafFootball Australia. He has also held coaching roles in high performance at the FFVChampions League program for over 5 years and heads the junior school footballprogram at Caul�eld Grammar School also for 10 years. Tim is a very passionate footballcoach and a true professional in his work.

STAFF

Tom Huang is pursuing his AFC B Coaching licence and is currently in an A-LeaguePre-Academy and academy environment. Having coached at both senior and junior level,Tom is very passionate about youth development, particularly technical development inthe Skills Aquisition Phase. Prior engagements include multiple gold medals withMonash University’s futsal team at the Australian University Games, Miniroos TechnicalDirector and U13 Head Coach at NPL club Kingston City, and assistant coach for theReal Madrid Talent ID Clinics in 2017.

Karamo (Kay Kay) Kamara holds an AFC ‘C’ youth Coaching Licence and currently aNPL U21s coach at Nunnawading City. Karamo completing a Bachelor of PhysicalEducation and Sport Science at Victoria University. Karamo has over 5 years’ experienceof coaching Miniroo and at youth level. Karamo has played for some top clubs in Australiaincluding Brisbane Roar Youth and Marconi Stallions. Karamo is a winner of NPLQueensland with Western Pride FC in 2017. Karamo is a passionate young coach who isaspiring to educate young footballers via coaching and education.
