New7Wonders  of  Nature  Campaign  Now  that  we’re  familiar  with  the  New7Wonders  campaign,  you  get  the  chance  to  explore  one  of  the  natural  wonders  that  made  the  finals.  Follow  the  instructions  below  and  be  sure  that  all  group  members  record  the  necessary  information  in  their  notebooks.    Research  and  Short  Presentation  

1) Visit  New7Wonders  of  Nature  website  to  see  the  list  of  finalists.  As  a  group,  choose  one  of  the  finalists  that  you  believe  should  be  included  as  one  of  the  new  top  7  natural  wonders  of  the  world.  

2) Research  the  natural  wonder  and  record  the  following  in  your  notebook:  • Name  and  geographic  location  • Physical  geography  characteristics  (type  of  landform,  climate  and  

weather  etc.)  • Unique  characteristics  • Types  of  tourism  this  natural  wonder  provides  • Why  should  this  be  one  of  the  new  top  7  natural  wonders?  

3) Create  a  short  Haiku  Deck  presentation  using  the  photos  that  accompany  your  description  and  put  together  a  short  presentation  (3-­‐4min)  that  will  be  shared  at  our  round  table  tourism  convention.  USE  THE  HEADINGS  ABOVE  to  organize  your  5-­‐6  slide  presentation  (name  and  location,  physical  geography,  unique  characteristics,  type  of  tourism,  why  vote  for  this  wonder?)  

 Round  Table  Tourism  Convention  The  tourism  industry  holds  a  wide-­‐variety  of  conferences  and  conventions  throughout  the  year  as  a  way  to  exchange  knowledge,  share  ideas  and  to  develop  strategies  and  best  practices  to  improve  ecotourism  the  world  over.  Your  small  group  will  present  your  natural  wonder  nomination  at  our  round  table  convention.  Convince  all  of  the  participants  that  your  natural  wonder  is  worthy  of  being  one  of  the  new  top  7  natural  wonders.  We  will  vote  after  the  presentations  to  see  which  of  the  natural  wonders  will  be  the  official  New7Wonders!
