Forward Chicago is a grassroots all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit that connects neighbors, businesses and local organizations to build a stronger community. Together, we’re creating a neighborhood where people of all ages are active, engaged and influential.
The only constant is change... Shape the change in your life. NOW!
People tell us they are unsettled. They say that things are changing and they don’t know what to do about it. . .
Changes can impact us in many ways. For some, it is that their personal life has shifted. They are looking for new housing, making sure they can stay in their old house, or just trying to grow older in our neighborhood, and to make sure they can do it easily. Bodies change, friends change…life changes.
Still others are concerned about the current discourse in our world and country. They say they are impacted by the shift and are unsure how to learn more, get involved, and think more about what everything means in their lives and what matters to them.
Here’s the thing, the first step to feeling better is to get involved…get informed…learn more and then see where the next steps lead you.
Forward Chicago believes that we should shape the change to transform our community. Here are some examples:

• Housing is a key issue for our neighborhood. We are working with local representatives to ensure that our neighborhood gets the housing we need for older adults and more. Affordable housing. Housing that works for our neighborhood. Join us and make this happen.
• Current events getting you down? Come join our discussion group and learn more, talk about your views and hear the views of others. Find ways to get involved and more. This group is an extension of our Great Decisions group that has meet every year to discuss foreign affairs. Now we’re taking it local.
• Worried about how you will grow older and want a plan for the future? This winter, we’ll have a new group starting called Aging as You Wish.
• Maybe you just want to make some new friends, enjoy the company of others and explore the neighborhood. We have plenty happening – come and join us.
Always looking Forward!
