BIOGRAPHY Chaplain (COL) William Sean Lee Chaplain William Sean Lee is the Joint Force Headquarters Chaplain for the Maryland National Guard. Chaplain Lee serves MG Linda Singh, the Maryland Military Department Adjutant General, with the responsibility for religious support of nearly 6700 Maryland National Guard members and their families. He provides supervision and support for the 12 Army Guard, 3 Air Guard, and 8 Defense Force chaplains in the Maryland Military Department. Chaplain Lee is also responsible for formulating, developing and coordinating all policies, programs and plans related to chaplains in the Maryland Military Department. Additionally he provides the Adjutant General with advice related to religion, morals, ethics and morale as they impact the command. Chaplain Lee was born in Havre de Grace, Maryland. He was commissioned as an Ordnance Branch Second Lieutenant in 1979 upon graduating from Carson-Newman College in Tennessee. In response to a call to military chaplain service he completed the Chaplain Officer Basic Course in 1981 at Ft. Monmouth, New Jersey and successfully branch transferred to the

BIOGRAPHY

Chaplain (COL) William Sean LeeChaplain William Sean Lee is the Joint Force Headquarters Chaplain for the Maryland National Guard. Chaplain Lee serves MG Linda Singh, the Maryland Military Department Adjutant General, with the responsibility for religious support of nearly 6700 Maryland National Guard members and their families. He provides supervision and support for the 12 Army Guard, 3 Air Guard, and 8 Defense Force chaplains in the Maryland Military Department. Chaplain Lee is also responsible for formulating, developing and coordinating all policies, programs and plans related to chaplains in the Maryland Military Department. Additionally he provides the Adjutant General with advice related to religion, morals, ethics and morale as they impact the command.

Chaplain Lee was born in Havre de Grace, Maryland. He was commissioned as an Ordnance Branch Second Lieutenant in 1979 upon graduating from Carson-Newman College in Tennessee. In response to a call to military chaplain service he completed the Chaplain Officer Basic Course in 1981 at Ft. Monmouth, New Jersey and successfully branch transferred to the Chaplain Corp in 1983 upon graduation from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina.In addition to his current assignment Chaplain Lee has served the Maryland National Guard as chaplain for the 115th Military Police Battalion, 136th Combat Support Hospital, 29th Infantry Division (Light) Division Support Command, and State Area Command Headquarters. He was deployed to the Pentagon immediately after the 11 September 2001 terrorist attacks in support of rescue and recovery efforts, and served on Active Duty as the Acting Command Chaplain for U.S. Cyber Command from July 2014-March 2015. Chaplain Lee is a 2004 graduate of the U.S. Army War College which he completed as a National Security Fellow at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.

Prior to his current ministry as the full-time Chaplain Federal Technician for the Maryland National Guard, Chaplain Lee served as a new church development pastor in North Dakota and Delaware, a pastor in Maryland, and Hospice Chaplain /Manager for Spiritual Services and Bereavement at Hospice of Baltimore.

Chaplain Lee is married to Reverend Sarah Lee and together they serve as Interim Co-Pastors at Calvary Baptist Church in Towson, Maryland. They have one grown daughter.
