The essential question for this project is: What do systems of equations tell me, and how can I solve them?

The due date is: Friday, February 20, 2015

You will be creating a product to show your knowledge of the material from Chapter 4 by completing one of the following options:

Choose1:

1) Solving a system of equations using Equal Values Method, Substitution, Elimination and Graphing. You must consider 1 solution, NO solutions and Infinite solutions.

2) Complete the Hybrid Cars Systems of Equations Project

3) Following the example of the Hybrid Cars Systems of Equations Project, choose your own research question to explore with a system of equations and represent your

solution graphically and algebraically with the method of your choice (Values Method, Substitution, Elimination). If you are interested in this option, see me to discuss if you need guidance.

Use ALL of your resources: your notebook, your folder with toolkit (if you did it), Learning Logs, textbook with Math Notes boxes, online resources, the resources of your peers!

Options 1 and 3 allow for more creativity, but are less structured. Make sure that you are meeting the Math criteria first, then thinking about the creative representation. Use your knowledge and understanding to represent the concepts as guided by the Product Menu on the back, making sure to meet the requirements of the Portfolio Rubric.

If you need more guidance, Option 2 is a complete project with step-by-step directions, and will help you to complete the final product. If you choose this option, be sure to get the rough draft and follow directions!

Expectations for all projects, regardless of final product, are the following:

1) Your are doing your very best work. Create a product you would be proud to show your parents! You have plenty of time to do a great job.

2) Be creative! Make it awesome and awe inspiring! Make my heart smile at your beautiful work and effort.

3) This time EVERYONE is completing their OWN portfolio. I want to see what each of you can do.

Your choices for the final product are on the back. If you have questions, ask.
