ANNUAL REPORT If we had a theme for this year, it would resonate with the lyrics of the Beetle’s hit song. . . “With a little help from my friends”. As we started 2018 gearing up for the grand opening of Camp Salute, the Borough of Clayton supported our efforts by providing space in their Senior Center for the application process. The application process was so successful that in September when we opened the doors at Camp Salute, all 76 units were accounted for and to date we are proud to say we exceeded our initial goal of 25% veterans, and reached 70% of the units housing veterans and their families. We thank Conifer, State Senator Steve Sweeney, the GC Freeholder Board and NJEDA for believing in this project and for giving the People for People Foundation a permanent home in the new South Jersey Veterans Resource Center (SJVRC) at Camp Salute. On a national level, DVNF Disabled Veterans National Foundation provided us with $20,000 to initiate our Life Skills Classes in the new SJVRC and AT&T provided $10,000 for Education and Skills Training. Locally the Clayton Elks generously provided over $35,000 in household supplies to our Camp Salute Veterans. In addition, the Woodbury HS Sports Alumni Association, the South Jersey Chapter of Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Club, the South Jersey Nam Knights Motorcycle Club and Columbia Bank have made generous donations towards our goal to purchase a passenger van in 2019. The 2018 People for People Annual Report reflects the generosity of the many individuals, companies and organizations who assist us in creating a way and means to give that little bit of help needed to so many of our friends and neighbors throughout South Jersey. On behalf of the People for People Foundation Board, I am grateful for and humbled by your support.
