CHALLENGE 3rd ESO
IN THE TEACHER’S SHOES
As you can guess from this challenge’s title, you will have to
perform the teacher’s role. More specifically, imagine that you are
an English teacher and you have to prepare some exercises for
an exam for your students.
Below, you will find the text that will be the main piece of
information in your exam.
Once you read the text, you have to prepare 4 different exercises
in relation to the text. Just after the text, you will find the
requirements of the exercises you will have to create.
How do you send the answers?
You don’t have to write your answers on this document.
You have to write your answers on a Word document. Please, you
need to make it clear which exercise you are doing and its
corresponding answer.
Finally, remember to put a clear title to the Word document you
send (don’t forget your name!)

These are the different types of exercises you have to create:
I will check how difficult your exam is!
1 One ludic exercise on Vocabulary (ex. Alphabet
soup or crossword)
For doing this, choose between 8-10 words from the text,
look up their meanings and design the exercise.
Two “Reading Comprehension” exercises:
a) Write five questions. (Remember that you don’t
have to answer them, just preparing the
exercise).
b) Write five True or False statements.

3 One Grammar exercise.
For doing this, you have to read the text carefully and identify
the main grammar topics that are present in the text (Verb
Tenses? Prepositions? Adverbs?). Once you have one or two
topics identified, design your exercise. It could be one of these
two formats: “Choose the correct option” or “Fill in the blanks”.

You can include an extra exercise on your own
production. This will add an extra point for you.
