COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVESUpon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:

• Summarize current treatment of non-ST elevation myocardial infarction in patients with heparin induced thrombophilia

• Describe how to treat patients with coronary artery disease and diabetes

• Describe treatment of congestive heart failure in patients with renal dysfunction and those with preserved ejection fraction

• Identify how to evaluate cardiotoxicity in patients on chemotherapy

• Review current pharmacologic, non-pharmacologic and anticoagulation strategies in patients with atrial fibrillation

• Describe how to measure the QT interval, and how to manage patients with frequent PVCs

• Describe how to evaluate and treat patients with acute pulmonary embolism.

• Describe when to refer adults for PFO closure

• Describe how to make a diagnosis of constrictive pericarditis

• Describe how to avoid pitfalls in caring for patients with adult congenital heart disease undergoing non cardiac surgery.
