As a classwe have each identified something we want to work on forTerm 1 and will work towards for the remainder of the term.A whole class favourite has been swimming in the pool onMonday mornings, we have enjoyed playing ball games in thepool and having swimming races. Pink Class

Pink class has been very busy this term, learning a newclassroom routine, the layout of the room and where theyshould put their bags, diaries and lunches. Students areengaging with the English unit, “Identity” where they arerequired to match photos of themselves and their classmates, indicate favourite items and make choices of things they to doduring their free choice time in the afternoon.

This term we have begun a Food Technology unit on Chineseand Australian Foods. No doubt sampling Vegemite on a smallpiece of toast will be involved. For Chinese food, we will beheating the food using the oven and, with great care, somehot water and making a dipping sauce to teach the tastesof “sweet” and “sour”. Food technology is a great way toapply maths (measuring) and science (dissolving, mixing andobserving changes caused by heat). Understanding the idea ofhot and cold is easily taught simply through touching a frozenpacket of peas and then a warm cup of water and asking thestudents to identify which is which.

We are looking forward to lots of learning with some fun alongthe way in the Pink Class of 2021.
