In an effort to make sure visitors are informed of the many amenities San Clemente and the surrounding areas have to offer, we have produced the 7th Annual Visitors Guide with information regarding San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano and Dana Point. Information contained in the Guide will be included in the Chamber Website.

Visitor Guide

The Chamber receives approximately 125 visitors a week, to our office, seeking information on San Clemente and the adjacent vicinities. In addition, we send out over 40 Visitors & Tourism information packets through the mail, per week. Marketing the three cities together, guests realize that San Clemente is truly a destination municipality. As a result, visitors recognize the many features the area has to offer.

The Guide includes information pertinent to visitors and will feature member businesses that are relevant to the tourism market. This is a free member benefit.

Website & iPad

One of the elements of the Chamber website is “Visit San Clemente.” These pages contain information that is currently published in our Chamber’s Visitors Guide. In addition, the Guide was formatted to be utilized on the IPad.

The City of San Clemente and Council Members-Mayor Jim Evert, Mayor Pro Tem Tim Brown, Lori Donchak, Jim Dahl and Bob Baker, along with the City Manager George Scarborough are to be commended for seeing the vision and making this projects possible. In addition, special thanks to Shelly & Don Kindred, Kindred Associates for design, artwork & photos.

Chamber honors Pillars of the Community

Someone in the community deserves to be recognized for their contributions. It could be a neighbor, a friend, a mentor or even a relative. Many selfless acts of volunteerism, dedication or bravery under duress go unnoticed. This is a chance to give those people the recognition they deserve from the community, which has benefited from their actions. Below are the awards, which will be presented at the Chamber’s Annual Meeting of Members, Installation of Officers and Award Ceremony held at the Bella Collina Towne & Golf Club on Thursday, February 18, 2016. This is your chance to help the unsung heroes of our city get the appreciation they merit.

Lifetime Achievement-Qualities which are taken into consider-ation in choosing a recipient for the prestigious “Outstanding Lifetime Achievement Award” include: The recipient must live in San Clemente; their service to the community includes acts of heroism, humanitarianism or charitable and other “outstanding service” throughout their lifetime. The service performed must be voluntary and over the nominee’s lifetime. Nominations are encouraged from individuals and organizations.

Citizen of the Year-This award is presented to a recipient that re-sides in San Clemente, has served the community through acts of heroism, humanitarianism or charitable and other “outstand-ing service.” Service performed must be voluntary. Meritorious service must be within the last year. Nominations are encour-aged from individuals and organizations.

Business of the Year-This award goes to a business which is a member of the San Clemente Chamber and is involved in the community through in-kind donations and service hours. They must have high business standards, including innovative prog-ress techniques, support of business, customer service, ethics and image. Nominations are taken from the membership at large. Only Chamber members are eligible for this award.

Educator of the Year-This award is given on a rotating basis, where a different level (elementary, middle and high school) is honored yearly. Nominations are encouraged from individual and organizations. Note: Private school educators are also eli-gible.

If you wish to nominate an individual, complete the appropriate application and e-mail to the San Clemente Chamber of Com-merce on or before the first Friday in November. For more infor-mation call 492-1131 or visit us online at www.scchamber.com.
