Assistance is needed to support thermal (CFD) modeling activities related to materials processing and continuous glass fiber manufacturing technology. The duration of this assignment is indefinite, but it is expected to be between 3 and 24 months. Therefore, individuals in pursuit of an engineering degree and recent graduates (all levels) are good candidates for this position. Mechanical engineering or a closely aligned field fits best for this position. Engineering intern is expected to work with 3-D solid modeling, CFD and finite element software packages, and he/she will prepare and run models under the direction of a modeling engineer. Results will be reviewed with supervision and applied to design and/or technology development efforts. Familiarity with ANSYS Workbench, Fluent, Inventor, and ABAQUS is beneficial, but candidates with background in other modeling packages will be considered.

The pay rate is $18.00 - $24.00 an hour based on education and

experience. This is a contract (temporary) position but could develop into an entry level position based on current business conditions.

• With direction from an Eligibility Referral Supervisor 1, interviews individuals for a variety of Public Assistance Programs. Maintains assigned caseload, gathers required data, performs interactive CRIS-E interviews, and draws conclusions to establish initial and ongoing eligibility. Obtains necessary verifications, computes applicant’s budget, completes thorough case recordings, obtains signatures and explains rights and responsibilities as required by law. Refers individuals to special programs as necessary. Explains PA programs/procedures as well as other available services

• Works with outside agencies to help meet initial and ongoing needs. Conducts state hearings and county conferences as needed and files necessary forms timely. Prepares notification letters to assistance groups other than those generated by CRIS-E. Processes changes and applications in accordance with division policy.

• Obtains necessary and required information for suspected program fraud, overpayment, and/or underpayment. Testifies in court as necessary and requested.

• Attends supervision, staff, and training sessions as determined necessary by immediate supervisor.

• Miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisor and/or Director.

• Completes timely and necessary reports, RMS, forms, correspondence, and other written material required for proper documentation. Covers interviews for absent employees as directed.
