A Activity: Active listening and taking notes

M Movement: None

P Participation: Students will be engaged and listening

Whenever I am addressing the class, students should be actively listening, taking notes, and responding—nothing else.

Whenever a student is talking, we will all be respectful and listen.

Independent Work C Conversation: Level 1—limited to on-topic questions of an immediate neighbor

H Help: Raise hand

A Activity: Independent Work

M Movement: None—without permission

P Participation: Students will be actively doing the assignment

Whenever the assignment is for independent work, the student will work on his or her own.

Students may ask on-topic questions of an immediate neighbor to have a point clarified, seek help with the meaning of a word, etc.

This does not mean carrying on a conversation.

If you need my help, raise your hand and I will come to you. Be respectful of others who are working by not asking your question across the room.
