2 v 18th Anniversary Season

Journeying to a very Stinky placeby Darryl B. Hovis, director

I certainly recall the first time I picked up the book. It was Lane Smith’s art that drew me toward cracking it open. Fun, wacky, yet with dark textures, I couldn’t help but be intrigued as just who this Stinky Man was. Then it happened. I fell into this zany world of Jon Scieszka’s mind. It is unabashed silliness at its best. I shared it with my three children, but I think I enjoyed it even more than they did. I have always been drawn to stupid, yet inventive humor. Years later, I am thinking, here I am, right back in that world of wonderful, beautiful stinkiness. With the help of the very talented John Glore, the world of Stinky is brought to life in a whole new way, yet still paying tribute to the spirit of the book. The challenge is stay true to the self-deprecating humor, as well as Smith’s artwork, while getting out of the way of the stories. I have come to get to know my old friends, Stinky, Jack, Chicken Licken, and many others, in a whole new way. It has been a blast to work with an amazing group of people, and I hope you have fun joining in the craziness.

Just try not to step in the cow patties!

Dimithri Perera (Stinky Cheese Man/Ensemble) first caught the acting bug in his 3rd grade production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. As he entered high school, he discovered his passion for improv

as well, and started to pursue his love for both. He created his improv team “Laugh Chance” in 2010 that has been performing a sold out bi-weekly show at STAGEStheatre, and just recently finished his stint as the Genie in Aladdin at the Curtis Theater. There is nothing that he loves to do more than performing, and is so excited to be a part of The Stinky Cheese Man and the Chance Theater family!

Logan Allison (Jack) is thrilled to be returning to the Chance in this production of The Stinky Cheese Man! His previous credits include Hairspray (at the Chance), Godspell, The Drowsy Chaperone, and Bat Boy!

He couldn’t be more excited to work with this cast, and hopes the audience grows to love the Stink of our Cheese as much as we do! He would also love to thank all of his family and friends who put up with his crazy antics day in and day out.

Angela Griswold (Cinderella/Ensemble) is so thrilled to be back with the Chance in her second production; she was last seen this past holiday season as Anne in Anne of Green Gables). She has performed/

starred in straight plays and musicals across Orange County. Regional: Little Sally (Urinetown, The Barn Stage Company). Some other favorite past credits include Wendla (Spring Awakening), Kate Monster (Avenue Q), Elle Woods (Legally Blonde the Musical), and Hermia (A Midsummer Night’s “Gay” Dream). She can also be found on YouTube in projects with MyDamnChannel, DailyYou, and PeggleBlast (from EA Games). She gives all her love and thanks to her amazing family, friends, this hilarious cast, and to fairytales. They sometimes (kinda’ sorta’ almost) come true.

Holly Jeanne (Red Hen/Ensemble) is a Theatre Arts faculty member at California State University, Fullerton, El Camino College, Cerritos College and AMDA College and Conservatory. She also serves as Associate

Producer for CSUF @ Grand Central Theatre in Santa Ana. Holly is a proud member of SAG/AFTRA. Her performance credits include The Laguna Playhouse, International City Theatre, Shakespeare Under the Moon, Santa Barbara Shakespeare, Court Theatre, Old Lyric in Logan Utah, Summer Repertory Theatre in Santa Rosa and Long Beach Studio Theatre.

Film credits include Distortion, Skidmarks! The Movie, Troublemaker, Two de Force, Barracuda and Bollywood’s I am Singh. She can be seen online in The Strange Life of John Perez, Nat and Olga, and with Streamline Health Services. She is featured in music videos by Christian TV, SeaWolf and Bowling for Soup.

Garret Replogle (Ugly Duck/Ensemble) is thrilled to be working with Chance Theater again after portraying Philippe Petit in Chance’s production of Up back in 2011. In the past Garret has worked with various

companies like Shakespeare by the Sea, Theatrical Arts International, and Little Fish Theater where he was involved in productions like The Tempest (Sebastian), As You Like It (Orlando), A Midsummer’s Night Dream (Demetrius), Hamlet (Rosencrantz), Frankenstein (Victor Frankenstein), Rounding Third (Michael), King John (Lewis the Dauphin), Bach at Leipzig (Graupner), Romeo and Juliet (Tybalt), and Two Gentlemen of Verona (Valentine). Garret just recently finished a pilot and has an independent feature film in post-production called Two on a Lam. Besides acting, Garret is also a director and has directed projects like The Laramie Project (University of Sioux Falls), 15 Minute Hamlet (California Baptist University) and The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley (Christian Arts and Theater). He has a B.A. in Theatre from California Baptist University and is a 3-time Irene Ryan KCACTF nominee.

Wade Williamson (Surgeon General/Ensemble) is honored to make his Chance Theater debut in this wonderful, hilarious production. He has been active in the local Orange County theater scene for the past 30

years. A graduate of Cal State Fullerton’s acclaimed School of the Arts Department of Theatre & Dance, he has served as an actor, stage manager, director, technician, designer, producer, and even artistic director. Recent acting credits include Michael Novak in God of Carnage (Modjeska Playhouse), Oliver in As You Like It (Alchemy Theatre Company-Huntington Beach), Robert Lee in The North Plan & various roles in The Twilight Zone (STAGESTheatre), Agent Polk in The Sting (Maverick Theater), Security Guard in The Rothko & Clark in Spoken Allowed (Chapman University’s OC-Centric New Play Festival).

Verona at Seattle Shakespeare Company; Mrs. Ruley
