Value Protect Insurance Supplementary Product Disclosure Statement (SPDS)

Allianz is changing its Value Protect Insurance (VPI) Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) wording to clarify the

circumstances in which customers are eligible for a premium refund and change the cooling off period, effective Friday 5

May 2017.

The VPI PDS will be updated with these changes by way of issuing an SPDS. Changes include updates to the ‘General

Conditions’ and ‘What we will pay’ sections, as well a change to the ‘Eligibility’ section of the PDS.

In addition, the cooling off period for VPI has been extended from 14 to 30 days.

What do I need to do?

You must provide the SPDS to customers purchasing a Value Protect Insurance policy at the same time that you provide

the PDS from 5 May 2017 and the SPDS will be automatically printed with the policy schedule from the system.

Your Account Manager will provide you with a PDF copy of the SPDS relevant to your brand.
