The Baust pallet changers – The Economic Choice

Pallet changer PW 1000 stand-alone

A space-saving design and a simple operation characterise the basic pallet changer PW 1000. Both the loaded and empty pallets are placed into the machine consecutively by a pallet truck. The electrically driven frame pushes the load which is secured from 3 sides gently to the empty target pallet without tilting, rotating or clamping the goods. All mechanical movements are done in dead man´s handle, a safety fence is unnecessary. The PW 1000 is designed as a “Plug & Play” solution and can be installed and operated single-handedly.


The PW 2000 with its pneumatically flexible side walls and many additional operation options ensures a versatile pushing procedure. The loaded and empty pallets are placed consecutively into the machine using a pallet truck. The pushing frame moves with the back wall to the load and secures it with the side walls. In this way even highly sensitive goods with gaps in the load are pushed gently over to the target pallet. An automatic control with specialized programs provides individual options for different types of pallets and goods. The pushing procedure can be further optimized with the use of optional sliding plates.


Similar to the PW 1000 and 2000 pallet changers the feeding and discharging is done at floor level by a pallet truck. Because of its 2-way pushing method, the PW 3000 is used as a sluice unit in hygienic zones. The pallets are moved into the machine from both ends and the load is pushed in the required direction. The pneumatically flexible side walls ensure that even highly sensitive goods can be pushed over. The PW 3000 can be used in demanding hygienic areas once connected to sluice gates.

Pallet changer PW 4000

The PW 4000 is the ideal solution in a niche position due to its compact design and single access feeding/discharging with a fork lift truck or integrated conveying line. The loaded and empty pallets are placed into the PW 4000 consecutively. After positioning, the lifting units of the roller conveyors ensure the correct difference in height between the source and target pallet. Combined with the pneumatic side walls and the sliding plates, which cover the empty target pallet, the load secured on three sides is gently pushed over. Optional pallet magazines ensure the timely preparation of the empty pallets.


The PW 5000, with its ability to exchange in both directions, is ideal as a sluice unit for hygienic zone separation integrated in a conveying line. This explains why it is most commonly used in the food and pharmaceutical industry. The bi-directional change of pallets is achieved through two doors and sliding plate units. The pallets are moved into the machine from each end and positioned at a stopper. The lifting units of the roller conveyors then ensure the correct difference in height between the two pallets, and in the same movement the empty pallet is positioned directly under the extended sliding plates. The doors behind the goods and the side walls close in and the load, secured from 3 sides, is gently pushed over. Then the sliding plates retract from under the goods and the pallets are discharged.


Complete automation and integration into a conveying line using a one way change direction make the PW 6000 the best performing pallet changer in the Baust range with up to 60 changes per hour. Additionally, the PW 6000 incorporates all the advantages of the gentle pushing method when transferring even highly sensitive goods. Initially an empty and then loaded pallet is placed into the machine. After the sliding plates have extended over the empty pallet, both pallets are lifted up by the roller conveyors. The frame and closed rear wall then move in on the goods followed by the side walls. In this way the goods are secured from 3 sides and can be gently pushed to the empty target pallet. The sliding plates are then retracted from underneath the goods and the pallets are removed consecutively. During this process, the next two pallets are fed into the system. This represents material flow at the highest possible level.
