Mystery of Faith (formerly the Memorial

Acclamation)

As part of the new Mass

translation, after the

consecration, rather than

saying, “Let us proclaim

the mystery of faith,” the

Priest will simply an-

nounce, “The mystery of

faith” (“Mysterium fi-

dei”). It will be a de-clarative statement

about the Eucharist now

present.

Priest: Let us proclaim

the mystery of faith:

People:

A – Christ has died, Christ is risen,

Christ will come again.

or B – Dying you destroyed our

death, rising you restored our life.

Lord Jesus, come in glory.

or C – When we eat this bread

and drink this cup, we proclaim your

death, Lord Jesus, until you come in

glory.

or D – Lord, by your cross and resurrec-

tion, you have set us free. You are the

Savior of the World.

Priest: The mystery of faith.

People:

A – We proclaim your death,

O Lord, and profess your Resurrection

until you come again.

or B – When we eat this Bread and drink this

Cup, we proclaim your death,

O Lord, until you come again.

or C – Save us, Savior of the world,

for by your Cross and Resurrection, you have set us free.

Sign of Peace Priest: The peace of the Lord

be with you always.

People: And also with you

Priest: The peace of the Lord

be with you always.

People: And with your spirit.

Invitation to

Communion After the Lord’s Prayer

and the Sign of Peace, we

sing the Agnus Dei

(“Lamb of God”) as the

Priest breaks the sacred

Host.

Priest: This is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.

Happy are those who are called

to his supper.

All: Lord, I am not worthy

to receive you, but only say the word

and I shall be healed.

Priest: Behold the Lamb of God,

behold him who takes away the sins of the world.

Blessed are those called

to the supper of the Lamb.

All: Lord, I am not worthy

that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word

and my soul shall be healed.

Concluding Rites

Priest: The Lord be with you.

People: And also with you.

Priest: The Lord be with you.

People: And with your spirit.

“These witnesses [young people with severe disabilities] speak to us, first and foremost, of the dignity of all human life, created in the image of God. No suffering can efface this divine image imprinted in the depths of our humanity. But there is more: because the Son of God wanted freely to embrace suffering and death, we are also capable of seeing God’s image in the face of those who suffer. Dear friends, our society, which all too often questions the inestimable value of life, of every life, needs you: in a decisive way you help to build the civilization of love.” ~Pope Benedict XVI—visit to San

Jose Foundation for disabled youth. Madrid, August 20, 2011

(C.E.F.) Prayer Cards Cards are available at all times in our Parish Office for a donation of $2.00 or $5.00. Perpetual Certificates are also available. Theses enrollments make excellent gifts for many occasions. Proceeds from these donations are used to educate Seminarians for this Diocese. The Fund is also used to make low interest loans to Parishes for their building programs. This has been a project of the Austin Diocesan Council of Catholic women since 1948.
