SPECIFICATIONS

ChannelPilot Size: 170 x 110 x 72mm(h), (6.7 x 4.3 x 2.8”)

Weight: 850g (1.87 lbs)

Battery Life: >15 hrs

Receiver: L1 GPS, Glonass, Galileo, Beidou, QZSS Wireless: Wi-Fi or Bluetooth (Class 1)

Data Output: GPGGA, GPHDT, GPROT, AIVDM, GPVTG, battery status

Display

Any portable computer capable of receiving data over WiFi or Bluetooth and operating a suitable charting system.

PERFORMANCE

GPS: <2.5m (uncorrected) <1m (SBAS)

HDG: Ships heading ±0.5° HDG Precision: 0.1°

ROT: <1°/min

AIS receiver range: External Antenna <10NM (typical)

More precision navigation products from Navicom Dynamics:

ShuttlePilot For relative positioning operations and buoy moorings in the offshore industry. Options include: ESD, hawser and riser monitoring.

HarbourPilot Exceptional accuracy and fully independent of ship systems. Supports all piloting operations - anywhere.

GyroPilot Adds smoothed heading and ROT to pilot plug data with GPS fall-back.

Easy to use• Lightweight and portable.• Built for rough conditions.• Tough, waterproof housing.• Magnetic base for quick and firm fixing.

Safe• Detect start of turn early.• Invaluable in poor weather conditions.• Accurate ROT makes constant radius turn simpler.

Efficient• Independent of Pilot Plug.• The same high quality data aboard every vessel.• Not reliant on shore-based information systems.

With relevant software• ENCs overcome language barriers.• Detect and plan for meeting other vessels early.• Recordings are invaluable for risk management.• Recordings greatly aid pilot training.• Easily customised, updated and upgraded.

“The ChannelPilot has become

an important addition to aids of

navigation available to me on

any vessel. This unit combined

with my visual refence, the

radars and fathometer make

my situational awareness much

better.”

Capt. David Adrian, Matagorda Bay Pilots

PERFORMANCE

ChannelPilot is compatible

with a wide range of ECS

software used by pilots,

including Pilot Pro, Rose

Point ECS, Qastor, Euronav

seaPro, Raven Wheelhouse

II and SEAiq Pilot among

others.

Ideally the software should

display official ENCs (S-57

or S-63 encrypted versions) in a format similar to what an ECDIS system would

show. Some ECS are able to show additional information of value to pilots, such as

depths corrected for Height of Tide.

To show AIS data and navigation data, software must be able to accept a

combined data stream with both types of data (all the named software can do so).
