professionals. The workshop will be approved for CEU's and the profits will benefit our chapter of Chi Sigma Iota.

Planned Initiations We will have one initation in the Spring semester that will coincide with a ceremony for the presentation of honor chords to Chi Sigma Iota graduates.

Planned Business Meetings We plan to hold at least 2 business meetings each semester, including the summer term.

Planned Workshops We will hold the workshop mentioned above as a fundraising endeavor.

Planned Social Events This summer we will throw a party in honor of an LSU Counselor Education professor who will be leaving. In the fall, we plan to have one welcome back event at a local restaurant, a tailgate party for an LSU football game, and a holiday party to mark the end of the semester. We plan to have two events in the Spring including a welcome back and end of the year celebration.

Planned Newsletter This year we will distribute, via email, a monthly newsletter to Chi Sigma Iota members and Counselor Education students and graduates to raise awareness about relevant Counselor Education information and Chi Sigma Iota events.

Other Activities Planned In the spring semester, we will organize a panel of recent graduates to inform students about: career searching, licensure, post-master's degrees, work preparation, and any other relevant information.

Goals and Objectives Our goals are: To hold a fundraising activity. To promote more student and alumni involvement. To create a monthly chapter e-newsletter.

from 6pm to 9pm at the Clayton Brower Student Center at The College of New Jersey. Over 40 new members will be inducted into the chapter. The date of 2007 induction ceremony will be scheduled after the completion of 2006 induction ceremony.

Planned Business Meetings Annual business meeting will be held during the fall of 2006. Ongoing correspondence with the chapter officers will be completed via email.

Planned Workshops As of April 2006, no workshop is scheduled for the school year of 2006-2007. The first meeting for new officers will be held during the fall 2006 to organize the plans for spring 2007.

Planned Social Events No social events are scheduled for the year of 2006-2007 school year. Planned Newsletter No newsletter will be produced. Other Activities Planned The chapter hopes to continue providing a $500.00 scholarship at next

yearÆs induction ceremony. Also, the chapter hopes to discuss the idea of providing a half-day workshop to professionals.

silent auction we will be able to raise money for the year and convention.

Planned Initiations Our planned intiation as of right now is in April of 2007. We just completed one this past April 21, 2006 and we inducted a number of members.

Planned Business Meetings Business meetings are planned bi-monthly for our chapter to go over plans as a whole and weekly with officers to decide what should be done in the future and help our committees plan and make sure events are being completed.

Planned Workshops As of right now, we have the Wellness Conference planned for November 17th, 2006 and we also have workshops planned at least monthy regarding different areas of counseling, such as the doctoral panel, PCLE workshop, internship panel

Planned Social Events As of right now our social chair would like to plan gatherings monthly to make sure the officers are doing what the chapter would like from us and to see people we may not see from classes alone.

Planned Newsletter Our newsletter committee is working hard on putting out 2 newsletter, one in the fall and spring, to keep everyone up to date with activites planned monthly. We will know more once we meet and finalize plans at the end of May. (Its after finals and we will be able to work on events and activities regarding the fall)

Other Activities Planned Other activities planned as of right now would be service projects such as helping out a community that may not be able to afford or going down to the homeless shelters and helping them to the besst of our ability. Last year, the chapter talked to Hurricane Katrina victims in the area which was incredible and as much as we would like to do the same we do not wnat other tragedy to happen.

Chapter Name Beta Kappa Tau University Sam Houston State University Web Page https//www.shsu.edu/~edu-elc/chisigiota.html Chapter Dues N/A Other Funding Methods Workshops given by BKT provide funding. Planned Initiations One initiation ceremony is held each year, usually on the first

weekend in April at the historic Austin College Building on the SHSU campus. New members and officers will be initiated, current members will be recognized for their contribtuions to our organization, awards will be presented, and a business meeting will be held.

Planned Business Meetings Business meetings are planned for August, October, and February, 2006, and April, 2007. The faculty advisor, the officers and committee chairs, and members will be invited to attend. Meetings will be held at locations mutually agreed upon by the officers.

Planned Workshops Two 6 hour workshops are planned for June 17, 2006 and February, 2007. The topic for the June workshop is to be "Handling Stress after a Crisis" and the February workshop is to be entitled "Current Issues in Child and Adolescent Counseling." In addition, a 3 hour October "Ethics Institute" is planned for October.

Planned Social Events The one-hour orientation social/informational meetings will again be offered in the June, September, and January. In addition to our Fall "Take a Break with BKT," we hope to offer a "Spring Break with BKT" in March.

Planned Newsletter We plan to publish and mail our newsletter, "Reflections," at least twice--in the early Fall of 2006 and the late Spring of 2007.

Other Activities Planned BKT will cntinue its book partnership with Scholastic Books to provide books for children and adolescents who come to the Jack Staggs Counseling Center on campus. We will continue with our Christmas project by collecting donations from both undergraduate and graduate students and selecting a worthy project or needy family to donate these proceeds. BKT hopes to encourage attendance at professional development conferences by sponsoring a member, or members, to attend ACA, TCA, TAMFT, or AAMFT. BKT will pay all of part of the costs incurred for members who attend and/or present at these conferences.

Goals and Objectives Our chapter's goals are to continue organizing and attending our new-student orientation; to increase member involvement by encouraging increased attendance at our business meetings and by personally inviting them to attend and participate in all of our activities; requiring new members to participate in our organization and in their communities by offering their time to community service projects; to publish and distribute our newsletter bi-annually; and to sponsor our eighth annual Christmas Service Project.

Needs As always, we are in need of topic suggestions or speakers for our workshops, as well as names of mental health professionals in our area who would be willing to offer our members a presentation or workshop.

Planned Business Meetings We plan on having monthly e-board meetings (total of twelve) and monthly general meetings (total of twelve); therefore, we will have twenty-four business meetings this year. General meetings will be held on the Barry University campus and e-board meetings will be held on campus and off (local coffee house).

Planned Workshops We plan on having a minimum of five workshops: Sexual Abuse Workshop (summer 06), Play Therapy Workshop (summer 06), Publication/Presentation Workshop (fall 06), NCE Review (fall 06), MasterÆs Comps Review (fall/spring 07), and PhD Comps Review (spring/summer 07). These workshops will all take place on the Barry University campus.

Planned Social Events We plan on having a minimum of two social events per season/semester. Summer: beach bar-b-q (Haullover Beach) and bowling night (Lincoln Road, Miami Beach); fall: soft-ball game with face painting (on campus) and gallery walk (Design District); winter: formal event with guest speaker (Miami Shores Country Club); spring: pool party (on campus) and seeing a professional sporting game (off campus).

Planned Newsletter We plan on publishing two editions of the Beta Upsilon Newsletter: one during the fall/winter (06) season and one during the spring/summer (07) season. We distribute at the Barry University and Orlando campuses, as well as mail to individuals who have written articles and/or conducted workshops at our campus (approximately 80 copies).

Other Activities Planned We plan on having social/education activities in the form of ômovie nightsö and ôgame nightsö in which we use the films and games as a springboard for meaningful discussion (one per semester held on Barry University campus and/or membersÆ homes). We also plan on having a combined plant auction/service oriented event [hurricane supply drive] in the spring 07 (faculty advisorÆs home), orientations for new students (one per semester/session held on the Barry University campus), advocacy panel discussion (summer 06 held on campus as part of Legal & Ethical Issues in Counseling), officersÆ attendance of FCA Leadership Development Training (summer 06), and establishing and maintaining an ongoing local community service project. We plan on having a minimum of two guest speakers: One will be Don Bailey Jr. who use to be a professional football player and currently does sports casting for Miami radio station will talk about attitude, perseverance, goals, and over coming obstacles (inspiration talk that fits our wellness model). We also plan on maintaining our

Goals and Objectives It is our intention to continue growing and strengthening in terms of advocacy, professional development, service, and excellence while actively choosing a spirit of fun and generosity. We will manifest this through the various workshops, events, activities, projects, and ongoing endeavors that have been listed above, as well as taking on new challenges and opportunities as they arise. We will be active both on campus and off while encouraging participation from current students and alumni, MasterÆs students and Doctoral students. We are also committed to further integrating technology to assist us with our goals and objectives regarding our chapterÆs web site, bi-annual newsletters, and advocacy poster(s). At the end of this term, we plan on having all pertinent information from all aspects of our chapter saved onto a memory card to pass on to new officers. This will help ensure continuity.

Planned Workshops Chi Delta Epsilon plans possibly to sponsor a workshop during Spring 2007 at Winthrop University for the purpose of preparing for Comprehensive Examinations and the National Counselor Exam. We intend to solicit the assistance of faculty for this event, and it would be open to all senior counseling students.

Planned Social Events Three social events are planned for this year at Winthrop University. Chi Delta Epsilon's Annual Summer Bash will be held on June 10, 2006. We look forward to this networking event every year and anticipate a very good turnout. We also plan to repeat the holiday party/adopt-a-family event that worked so well last year. It will be held in December 2006. Finally, the chapter plans to organize a graduation social for senior counseling students in April 2007.

Planned Newsletter One newsletter is planned for each semester at Winthrop University: Summer 2006, Fall 2006, and Spring 2007. The chapter hopes to establish a tradition of keeping members informed in this way.

Other Activities Planned Chi Delta Epsilon Chapter has several service projects in the planning stages: a personal hygiene product drive for the benefit of our local Regional AIDS Interfaith Network Supply Closet (Food Stamps do not pay for these items); a school supply drive for early in Fall Semester 2006; and possibly participation in Relay for Life during Spring 2007.

Goals and Objectives Chi Delta Epsilon strives to provide counseling students at Winthrop University with many opportunities for service to the community; networking with each other, faculty, and professionals in the area; professional development; and leadership.

Depending on the amount of new student members, the chapter will continue to hold the initiation ceremony with this department function, and follow-up with a social activity.

Planned Newsletter a. Other Activities Planned Members have scheduled a meeting the first week of fall semester to

determine a common meeting time to accommodate most schedules. Additionally, members will pre-plan the remainder of meetings for the fall and spring semesters. Currently, we plan to minimally conduct nine monthly meetings for all members in the School of Education, Coyote Student Center, or perhaps at area eating establishments in conjunction with social functions. Depending on our membership needs, conducting meetings in surrounding communities may be appropriate. In addition to these nine monthly meetings, members of the executive committee and various subcommittees will meet as needed over the summer for officer training and new student orientation planning.

Goals and Objectives a. Needs In the fall 2006, chapter members will organize an orientation for new

students. The orientation will provide an opportunity for new students to meet faculty members and current students within the program. Also, a question and answer session will occur for the new students to gain insight into the expectations instilled within the program. During the 2006-2007 academic year members will organize several workshops addressing the following issues; NCE, comprehensive exams, and the process of interviewing for counseling positions.

Planned Workshops The Eta chapter has two formal workshops, one in the fall and one in the spring. The workshops are held in McKay auditorium in BCOE. Past topics include: supervision issues, ethical and legal issues in counseling and DSM criteria. We have a spring workshop set for May 1, 2006 on Self-Injurious Behavior from 5-8pm in McKay auditorium.

Planned Social Events The Eta chapter has several informal meet and greets held in the graduate assistant office throughout the fall and spring semester. In addition we have a Welcome Back Social in the fall in McKay auditorium with the purpose of inducting new members and allowing the opportunity for students to interact with CSI officers/members and faculty.

Planned Newsletter The newsletter will continue to be published monthly and will feature news about CSI, department happenings, legislative issues, upcoming events, alumni updates, spotlights on faculty, and annual conferences such as ACA and AOCC.

Other Activities Planned We participate with local agencies doing volunteer projects as well as advocacy issues. In December we shopped for gifts for a local family from Catholic Charities. We regularly make donations to Sojourner House-a domestic violence shelter for women and children. We also plan to invite speakers from the community to talk informally with students in the counseling program about different mental health issues.

Goals and Objectives We plan to continue to increase our membership as we have since the Summer 2005. We would also like to continue to act as advocates for the community. We want to hold more workshops and creat more contact with community agencies. Additionally, we want to continue to foster a relationship with community agencies by volunteering and donating time and resources to these agencies. The Eta chapter looks forward to continuing to act as advocates and leaders in our community.

Planned Business Meetings We will have business meetings once per month. Dates are selected each month based on officersÆ availability. Meetings will be held at an officerÆs home for approximately two hours. Each meeting will have an agenda and minutes that will be distributed electronically after each meeting. We will use our minutes as a ôto do listö to keep us focused and working towards our goals.

Planned Workshops We are considering hosting a mini-conference at which students, faculty, and professionals can present. Presentation topics may include licensure, special issues for school counselors, building a portfolio, planning a practicum and internship experience, and how to find a good mentor. The event will be scheduled for a Saturday in our student center, Johnson Center. We anticipate approximately 60 attendees.

Planned Social Events We are considering a potluck for our mentoring program. The purpose of the event is to encourage mentees and mentors to get to know one another and to allow all students who attend the opportunity to network with one another. We anticipate approximately 20 attendees. The event will be held in our university counseling centerÆs conference room or at an officerÆs home. Also, we will host a social event following the fall and spring initiation ceremonies.

Planned Newsletter We plan to distribute four newsletters - Sept/Oct; Nov/Dec; Feb/March; April/May editions. The newsletters will be distributed in print version in classes.

Other Activities Planned We are planning a new student orientation to welcome them to our program and discuss some key aspects of our program and information that may be helpful. We will discuss our online discussion program, our mentoring program, advising requirements, CSI, and so forth. We plan to schedule this for a date within the last two weeks of August 2006.

Goals and Objectives The first goal is to host a workshop or event that is helpful to students, graduates, and professionals. We hope to use this event to increase graduate and professional participation. This event will serve as an assessment of how we can better meet the needs of students of the Counseling & Development program. The second goal is to continue increasing studentsÆ knowledge about CSI and how it relates to the counseling profession. As students, we can be advocates and make contributions to the counseling profession. To accomplish

Needs The CSI national headquarters has been extremely helpful. Kelley has provided excellent support and information. In the future, perhaps there could be more communication/collaboration among the chapters. We all have so much information we could share and so much we could learn from each other. manner. We will continue to hold one 50/50 ticket raffle per year. In addition, we will be sponsoring a series of professional workshops including Play Therapy with Dr. Watts in the fall, Creation of a Continuing Education Packet ôLPC Supervision in PAö before summer for local professionals, Bill Culp will be presenting a seminar in the fall as well. We will consider any other item which the fundraising committee brings to the table.

Planned Initiations The fourth annual initiation ceremony will be held in April of 2007. The exact time, date and location will be chosen closer to the time.

Planned Business Meetings Gamma Upsilon Chi will have two formal business meetings this year. The first will be held in september of 2006, the second in march or 2007. The exact times, dates and locations will be chosen in consideration of the schedules of members and will be decided closer to the date.

Planned Workshops In April 28, 2006 we will host a licensure workshop at Gannon University. In September 2006 Bill Culp will lead a Workshop at Gannon University. Gamma Upsilon Chi will also assist with Counselor Wellness Day on September 30, 2006. We plan to have a Play Therapy Workshop with Richard Watts in November 2006 at Gannon University as well. A tentative training that would precede the April initiation and involve the initiation guest of honor, such as Dr. Sweeney. This would coincide with the 40th anniversary of the masters program which we will be celebrating the whole year and be ending with the April intiation ceremony.

Planned Social Events We would like to have an evening at a members home each semester and we will attempt to plan at a time when the most students, new and old, are able to attend. Gamma Upsilon Chi also provides refreshments and fellowship for students taking Comps exam and NCE exams during the fall and spring semesters. We will also have an evening at our advisors home for a wine and cheese gathering. Exact times, dates an locations will be chosen closer to the time of the event. The Community Counseling Program will be celebrating its 40th anniversary so the chapter will be actively involved with programming for related activities.

Planned Newsletter We plan to have a newsletter published each semester, Spring, Summer and Fall.

Other Activities Planned We hope to invite speakers to discuss advocacy or professional options. We will discuss this at the upcoming meeting in order to cater to what our members are most interested in.

Goals and Objectives This year we plan to create a yearly budget for the chapter as none has been made yet. We will attempt to find ways to better involve and assist alumni of our program. We would like to offer more opportunities to members for professional advancement in their areas of interest. We are also planning to use more professional methods of fundraising.

Spring semester. This initiation ceremony occurs on the Auburn University campus on a weekday evening.

Planned Business Meetings Two official business meetings are held each year: one in the Fall semester and the second during the Spring semester. However, other meetings will be planned as the need arises.

Planned Workshops The Iota Delta Sigma chapter plans one workshop/conference each year. Although in the past, the workshops were held in the Spring, the last workshop was held in the Fall semester. Because of the success of this past workshop, the chapter is planning to continue to offer the next workshop during the Fall semester.

Planned Social Events Each year, one social event is held on the Auburn University campus during the Fall semester. The social event coincides with the Fall business meeting. The event is held in the Fall to welcome the new students, set the agenda for the year, plan future events, as well as arrange all members into committees.

Planned Newsletter Iota Delta Sigma publishes a newsletter each year. The newsletter is published very early in the Spring semester, detailing the past events and discussing various events to be held in the near future. Because the chapter would like to become more active on Auburn's campus, in the upcoming school year (2006-2007), we are planning to publish one newsletter per semester.

Other Activities Planned No other activities are currently planned. However, as good ideas and needs arise, Iota Delta Sigma is able to quickly and efficiently plan activities to meet these needs.

Goals and Objectives As a chapter, Iota Delta Sigma strives to enhance and exemplify the professional experiences of all counseling students at Auburn University. Iota Delta Sigma's main goal is advocacy for the counseling profession, by encouraging counseling students to participate in professional organizations and becoming involved in the many professional opportunities afforded by the University. Iota Delta Sigma plans to promote the counseling profession through mentorship, workshops, newsletters, research, and sponsorship.

Other Activities Planned We plan on inviting a representative from CSI to speak at our Initiation Banquet. We also plan on inviting professors in the College of Education, specifically counseling, to present workshops on various topics related to counseling. We also plan on improving the bulletin board we have to update students on current news about the counseling profession and CSI.

Goals and Objectives The Lambda Beta Chapter hopes to continue to represent CSI with the same enthusiasm, pride, and respect as the officers of 2005-2006 have done. We plan to promote the counseling profession through scheduled workshops and social events. We hope to initiate incoming and current students of all three programs, including: Marriage and Family, Student Development in Higher Education, and School Counseling.

in exchange for a donation from the Department of Education. Planned Initiations One initiation will be planned for the Spring Semester. Based on

recently started chapter traditions, we tentatively plan to hold the initiation in early April at the University Club in downtown State College.

Planned Business Meetings We plan to hold monthly chapter business meetings on the second Wednesday of each month from 4:30-5:30pm. The meetings will be held in a Cedar Building conference room (yet to be scheduled).

Planned Workshops We have begun preliminary planning for four professional development workshops. In October we plan to hold an APA Workshop, November a Brown Bag talk, December a Practicum panel for first year students, and in March an Internship Panel for first year students. We will plan one or two more professional development workshops for the Fall and several for the Spring once committee meetings begin early in the Fall semester.

Planned Social Events We have plans for three social events in the Fall semester. In September we will hold a Kickoff Event at the Spikes baseball game, also in September we will attend Football Eve as a group, in October we are planning a joint Homecoming tailgate with the department. We will plan one or two more social events for the Fall and several events for the Spring once committee meetings begin early in the Fall semester.

Planned Newsletter We are currently working on a short newsletter to be sent out to incoming students in the next few weeks. We have not begun formal planning for newsletters during the school year but hope to increase the frequency and quality of newsletters from previous years.

Other Activities Planned We intend to update membership in our Service committee and encourage that committee to plan several service events over the course of the year. We also hope to sponsor/help implement a mentoring system that would pair incoming students with current students.

Goals and Objectives 1. To provide a balance of social, service, and professional development activties. 2. To increase the involvement of current CSI members, current students who are not members, incoming students, faculty and staff. 3. To create a cohesive organization where students from various cohorts and programs in the department can interact with one another as well as faculty, staff, and other professionals in our field. 3. To further publicize the Rho Alpha Mu chapter as well as the CSI national organization. 4. To facilitate connections with various CSI chapters in our state and region.

Needs At this time the Rho Alpha Mu chapter has no outstanding needs that require the support of CSI Headquarters or the executive officers.

Planned Workshops Our plan is to offer one workshop each month during the school year. We are presently discussing a variety of possible topics.

Planned Social Events We will again co-sponsor the fall picnic (at the start of the term), and the initiation will be preceeded by a pot luck dinner.

Planned Newsletter No changes in the newsletter are planned. Our agreement to communicate activities on one page of the Counseling Program's newsletter has worked well for us.

Other Activities Planned We will again hold the Spring Symposium. The scheduling of that meeting will wait until after this year's symposium since we are trying out a new time for this spring's meeting. As has been true in the past, we will invite all neighboring CSI groups to be involved in our symposium (as presenters or as participants).

Goals and Objectives As always seems to be true, one of our primary goals will be to increase involvement in the Chapter.
